24/10/2016 08:45 | I don't think Andy will be the only shorter with his head in his hands this morning. There are the significantly larger corporate ones who still have to close their positions as the price continues to rise. And they are short by a whopping 6.5% so should be interesting to see them move after their respective 9:00am crisis meetings :-) | tlobs2

24/10/2016 08:08 | Well the rise continues, we all expect Heathrow to be expanded which will see these rise a little but can you imagine if its Gatwick? These could do a 20% rise in a day, all imho | csmwssk12hu

22/10/2016 18:36 | That list is factually incorrect FWIW. Lots of factors in minimum required runway length - that's looking at very conservative margins. There are plenty of EU runways out in the Greek Islands etc.. for example that can do A320's and A321 's. | nigelpm
22/10/2016 18:27 | See there passenger no increase plans. hxxp://aircyber.weeb See runway requirements for A320/1 and the new 737-800 | mastey
22/10/2016 17:23 | I get all that. I know it well. 1,856m is plenty! Point is if they can handle 757's they'll also do all the A319/A320, 737's. see : hxxp://www.pprune.or Besides they only recently extended the runway at Southend in 2012. Runway extensions are an expensive business. There's no way you could make a sensible business case for one at an airport with 900k pax! | nigelpm
22/10/2016 17:16 | Need to understand things a little bit more I'm afraid. Firstly who uses 757 now.!! Old fuel thirsty aircraft. It's all about pay loan . A number of airports can handle 737 and A321 etc but they cannot take off with full pay loads. Having stobart there needs good cargo opportunities as well. Re Heathrow have you seen the stats being listed re travel demands ? Clear not, of course Heathrow needs a new runway. | mastey
22/10/2016 16:48 | Interesting was chatting to someone re Southend airport today. Advised that Easyjet flights from there becoming popular. Discussions ongoing to extend the runway. The runway can already handle 757's! They'd be able to fly right across Europe. I can't see any point in them extending the runway - sounds extremely fanciful. The point about regional airports is a good one though - the amount of traffic from the regions to London Airports could negate the need for a third runway at Heathrow. | nigelpm
22/10/2016 11:31 | Guys some brilliant news:Falling pound fails to dent appetite for foreign travel, sales figures suggesthttp://a.msn. | lucas5950 |
