Very respectable day.sterling had another go at the .89 and 1.23 level today. It got deeper at .8898 but again bounced off. Draghi will provide enough to get through and hold . Should not be too greedy I guess all will come in time. As you know Gatwick is owned by GIF some very bright PE boys. When Heathrow gets the green light they will want to keep there biggest customer sweet as BA will clearly reduce their Gatwick operation . Clearly a few years ahead but worth looking forward not backwards like some!!

What makes me laugh with QuePassa is that he loves to post about the numbers of shorters increasing.


When will the eejit realise that the more the merrier when the time comes for them to scramble for shares. It also highlights the fact that the share price is a false/suppressed one.

He mentioned another shorter this morning. At close of play the share price had gone up.

Preparing to leave 9300ft and climb to 10000ft has none of the short guys realised what is going on here, UK next week will announce airport expansions at which point airlines will soar because market takes short and long term views and this will guarantee more expansion for IAG and what other major UK airline oh yes Easyjet because they won't be giving the slots to Ryanair as the UK won't be in the EU anymore simples

Interesting couple of days. Sterling holding up very well today post yesterday gains. Just need to break below .8923 as reported yesterday , tested at .8917 but bounced off. Another effort hopefully soon. Easyjet positive. Accor comments re UK hotel bookings as people travel to the UK for short breaks . Easyjet positive. This showed up in UK inflation yesterday . Easyjet positive, as increase in bookings from outside to into the UK.

Even with a sizable bounce , share price steady. Positive

Check through skysanner a number of destinations . Easyjet locations (Gatwick in particular) and flight timings mean better pricing power. Positive.

Gatwick full, slots being assigned more and more for long haul. Competition have barrier to entry and with more long haul , connection flights . Positive.


Still issues but in a great position above competitors

Voldemort - as I recall, you were rather bullish on Ryanair's prospects a couple of weeks ago.
The sector is being played, it's as simple and as straightforward as that. You can trade EZJ all day long, and hedge any position with cable if you so choose. Far better than adding to shorts at these levels.
But you do as your told, it's not your money is it?

A very bleak winter flying period in store for the European short-haul sector.

It is going to get much worse in the months ahead in my opinion as new capacity comes on stream and all airlines will continue to see their profitability hit. Just as RyanAir issued a profits warning yesterday.

For Ryan to be forced to do that is telling the market something hard-hitting and undeniable about the worryingly negative operating environment for the short-haul sector.

A falling tides lowers all boats.

When the impact and meaning of RyanAir's profits warnings yesterday are fully grasped by the market and finally sink in ,this will in my view prove to be a defining moment in the investor perception of the general current deterioration of the sector and just how embattled the operating environment is.
