Yes, those Australian banks that have pulled out of a lot of investment banking areas really know a lot about Luton based airlines.

Idiot.

Pension funds, bond funds, anyone looking for yield. Its a safe purchase, as they'll be first in the queue should anything happen to EZJ, who seem to have stretched themselves at the wrong time with the new plane purchases.

Societe Generale downgraded the stock following the airline's profit warning last week. Pointing to a soft demand environment and currency headwinds, the bank’s analysts slashed their stance from ‘hold’ to ‘sell’ and lowered the price target from 1,150p to 820p.

No risk. Secured debt.

EZJ downgraded again today, I suspect this dcb is over.

Monarch surviving is good news for the industry. Shows that money is available for investment in areas that QuePassa stated on several occasions was doomed!

Where is he by the way?

Yes very positive bond issue. Headwinds in the market still there though and monarch has survived.

So the real money happy to take EZJ debt for nearly ten years for literally zilch. Huge vote of confidence in the company. They know air travel is going to balloon despite predictable headwinds-landing slots, aircraft, trained staff etc will become more expensive and EZJ will be taken out if it remains anywhere this price. Bonds are a far more reliable gauge of future prospects than shorts. imo

It's called borrowing as Easyjet have proven this morning 500m at 1.25% for seven years do you think for a minute if these were
1) in trouble they could lend at that rate and time
And
2) Ryanair or a vc could not also borrow at that rate to takeout Easyjet even if profit was £400m pa and takeout was £5bn and they had to pay 2% to finance they could make £300m per year right now not to mention when this thing starts making approaching a £bn per year in a few years when they re float for £10bn I've seen this situation so many times over the years imho dyor

Thing is big boys have been shorting this since brexit so apx £15? Hits £8.50 and has steadily rise since yesterday morning, tells me a major target was to get to £8.50 then start going long hence the slow but constant rise back up I think they will take this back to around £10 before getting itchy anything above that and there may be something bigger in the background if it clears £10 it will go to circa £12 next stop if it doesn't it will trade back to £8.50 imho

csmwssk12hu I agree. Ryanair could pick up additional aircraft, staff, and lucrative landing slots on the cheap. And they wouldn't have to wait for years to get their new expensive aircraft.

Its in the money, but less profitable than when the stock was lower.

Thats probably the most stupid question I've ever been asked.////// Andy is excellent at asking stupid questions himself!

Why not a bid from Ryanair, anything in life is possible who really seen SoftBank bidding £24bn for arm? Ryanair would get to take out one of its major competitors on the cheap guarantees Easyjet access to EU between the pair of them they could put real pressure on smaller airlines and still not big enough to warrant competition authorities as market is so fragmented if Ryanair are not at least looking at it they are not as shrewd as I thought and they are very shrewd
