That's really irrelevant, it's what was bought at 5.5 to 9p and that's where the money is at. One may expect that this be taken out at a much higher price but the only certainty in life is Death and taxes. Its a gamble on whether it will go to 42, 50 or 80p, some may wish to play that but bottom line is 33p and its very very unlikely visa will not counter bid, after all, they have been watching this for some time, the most amazing thing is, they didn't take a sizable stake in the 9p region. Shows how smart these so called high flyers really are.

You seem so certain that the company will be taken over at a significant premium to the current price, so how many have you bought in the last month?

err, wtf.....why would anyone sell at 30p when the bid is 33p ?

Mastercard have got 11% and won't get anymore at that price with it trading at 37p .

This is just a waiting game till Visa decide how much they want to raise their bid.

Visa could be seeing what shares they can buy at 30p before they decide next move. Mastercard doing the same. The main shareholders will be saying what they expect as an exit, 55/80p I'm sure. Whatever happens, they will be buying a growing business, great client base, growing. This will cement them as a serious player in the b2b space competing with Worldpay , global collect and all the other players. It's very specific business hence a great fit. They could help grow and use it to move their own money. If they wanted an updated network, it would take 5 years and much more money.

Sounds like your sipp provider is not up to speed, tell them your expecting a counter bid to 33p and you will only accept the highest bid which may take a few month to complete :-) hope you gave plenty of epo ££££

My SIPP provider is just notifying and asking today if I want to accept 30p from VISA. Obviously not, why would they put that to me today?

I do hope I have a sense of humour, but sadly not a lot of money to burn. :) :(

This is so jumpy at the moment, the overall trend might be upwards, but it could lurch up and down in the meantime so any kind of position could be stopped out unexpectedly. It's those nice kind-hearted MMs who try to make our lives interesting.

Hard to imagine Visa will not come in with a bid of a minimum of 40-42p now that Mastercard have shown their hand.

The share price is indicating that and I doubt Mastercard will give up.

What visa buy stock, bid higher . Easy money. To some that's insider trading but on bidding war ethics it's fine.

What's going to close this is a knock out bid. Simple. 600m because they'll make lots from it. They've been unlucky but with the right backing it will be worth a billion in years to come. They'll not lose. For me 45plus then finally buds to 80p.
