Could it get to the 40p referenced by PI above? Visa will need to push their hands deeper.

Get ready for a bidding war. VISA have just RNS'ed -

Looks like this is going to be a strong finish. By the way - 52 week high has gone and huge 500K trades are landing. Good luck here. I think an explosive final hour coming.

+30% and rising into close.

That 15:32 RNS from VISA paints whats about to happen and when bidding wars between two majors erupt, the share price can get stupid. Whats the all time high here? 5 year high looks like 50p

What surprises me is why aren't there a lot more bidcos snapping up UK assets? We have lots of battered gems to sell to bidcos at bargain prices. I am sure Phil Hammond will be whispering that into the ears of a few billionaires at Davos, buy British we are reaching our limits of maximum business neglect, might not be this cheap next year you know.

They're using language very awkwardly here. Firstly (27th of December) they say that "bidco" is a subsidiary of Visacard. Then (25th of January) they say that "bidco" is a subsidiary of MasterCard.

I know they're using "Bidco" as an abbreviation for "the company which is bidding for Earthport" but it seems a bit odd. Can't they just say "MasterCard"?

Alternatively, they would have to say "bidco has just made an offer which is 3p higher than bidco's offer" and that's just weird. They would also have to say "Bidco number 1 has been outbid by bidco number 2".

Or, more entertainingly, "bidco has just done a number 2 which is bigger than the number 1 from the previous bidco."

Soon they might have to say "bidco number 3, which is actually bidco number 1 and is now better than bidco number 2, has offered even more money than before."

This is brilliant news for the long suffering share holders of Earthport. A knock out bid at around 50p wouldn't surprise me, this is small beer to both players and its EPO's infrastructure that they have spent millions and millions on that they are after. If EPO had been properly managed in the first place, then the share price would have been well north of 50p. Now to sit back and enjoy

Hard to believe , there won't be a bidding war here. EPO is a minnow amongst 2 giants who clearly want it. Must be a chance of Poundland style like bidding war driving the share price up to 45p. Reasonable risk/reward.....33p downside at worst.

Something going on in the industry for two of the biggest to be locking horns over this. If the banks with the regulators are looking to lock down payment processing, then this is one ticket out. The billion dollar fin tech guys know they are dependent and have been riding for free for a while, that could change.

If you held stock at 6p. Sell. If you've purchased stock at 27p. It's your risk.

Firstly, some sell out who held at a loss.Secondly, the MMS control it, so other funds may want stock at 27p to build a position. I suspect not all shareholders want out, so any stock sold will get purchased in a hope they get enough to vote it through. That's what I think. Imagine, dear mm, I want any stock but at a lower price. OK. Visas offer is great but it's worth at least a £1 easily, however history and money needed to truly grow the company has slowed it down. If it was a finteck, new, 500 million raised, easily , bit because it was old guard, fools can't see through that, hence can get this for nothing. All in all I think it's not 30p because they don't have full support yet and someone is buying on behalf of Visa. The deal will take months to sort I'm sure.

Does anyone have a view on why EPO is trading at such a huge discount to the Visa offer price? It's making me nervous that there's something I don't know and there certainly seems to be a lot of stock around.

Our Leader, who art unhinged,
Madness be thy name.

Thy majority come
Thy legislation be done
In Britain as it is in Westminster.

Give us this day our daily propaganda
And forgive us our treachery
As we forgive those who conspire against us.

And lead us not into rationality,
But deliver us from Socialism,

For thine is the fantasy
The impotence and the dogma
For election after election
Amen

If it’s worth 30p, it’s probally worth 50p with a few tweaks, surprised if visa can just walk away without a counter, it’s really about protecting your back end. New ceo said the business was already scalable by 10 to 20 times, obviously this would take time but visa will probably be able to achieve this in a much reduced time frame. Only those with real inside info could make this type of informed decision, just hope plenty of joe soap shareholders averaged down and will end up in profit.
