19/5/2009 16:03 | any thoughts on Obama new vehicle emissions regulations being good for DYS... | gordonbrown
15/5/2009 17:20 | Thanks Gordonbrown and robandkerry. | kajshares
15/5/2009 10:31 | I also think the funding is the key to this one. When sorted we could see 50p easy. Bit of a gamble at the moment, but NAV will cover the current share price easily, so a no brainer at these levels really. | robandkerry
15/5/2009 10:18 | kajshares a reasonable post, however the RNS references a shareholder selling via Barclays, as this is near a penny stock holding 1,000,000 isn't a large sum. Also it is my understanding that Dyson' funding comes from two banks (Lloyds TSB and Svenska Handelsbanken), these two are still negotiating with the board and once resolved the share price will fly (IMHO). As for the play, the car industry is 'fixing' itself and at some point Q409 will start to pick up, there are also several US & EU rules coming into play that DYS technology can sell into. The real question is when the banks agree the loan what is the real DYS value? we could see a sudden move to 50p in the short term. I agree long term we could see plus 100p however lets get confirmation from the board at EGM that funding is resolved. hvs - isn't it criminal that our gov is so bent, shame the media isn't calling for an election. | gordonbrown
14/5/2009 12:12 | My assessment of DYS: Pls note I am not an expert, this are my humble views. All kind and polite replies are welcome) I think sharw is spot on- in respect of the EGM. Barclays bailed out this week. That suggests that they refused to give DYS anymore money. I still think this is a reasonable long term play. They have invested heavily in the electric car, which is very likely to be the future. The key is the technology. We also have to remember that the chemical sector is currently in turmoil. (pls see DYS' competitors- all in the gutter) This company was also been working very closely with GM in the past. If GM surts out its finances and retains its relationship with DYS, it will provide the support DYS needs to change its strategy. Once GM's problems are sorted, the share price will become stable and DYS would undoubtedly survive. If this company survives, it would definitely pay the pension. I will be holding for 3 years. It could easily be 2000X @ £3.00. I think it could be achieved by 2012. | kajshares
14/5/2009 10:14 | Hello gordon , You paying back the misclaimed expenses then. Did your brother do a good CLEANING JOB ? Must have used a DYSON then !!! | hvs
14/5/2009 10:06 | sharw it was always a given that Dyson wouldn't make profit 2H09, my post was stating that any news from DYS was positive as the board have been so quiet in 2009 | gordonbrown

13/5/2009 20:57 | gordonbrown - not even your spin doctors could turn this into good news because it has been caused by the fact that there will be a loss in the second half - if there had been a profit the borrowings would have been within the limit. | sharw
13/5/2009 19:21 | the good news is that there is some action on funding I suspect the market will take this as good news in due course | gordonbrown
13/5/2009 17:42 | more emergency than extraordinary..... sharw thankyou for your analysis it is much appreciated. | sleveen
13/5/2009 11:21 | Posts 3008 to 3010 suggest 'a source of funds lined up'. Nothing to do with that - if they don't clear this up before the accounts to 3/09 are finalised then the a/cs will be qualified that the borrowings are in excess of the amount permitted by the articles which, in turn, will lead to a breach of the loan covenants which, in turn, will lead to the brown stuff hitting the fan. | sharw
12/5/2009 22:41 | If they have the loans sorted that is good news, but this may be tempered if the required loan is far larger than anticipated. | diesel
12/5/2009 19:17 | V: Sounds to me as if they have a source of funds lined up. A lot of trouble and expense to go to if they haven't, the ratification of past borrowings could have waited til the AGM. Have to agree with you. | sleveen
12/5/2009 10:05 | Sounds to me as if they have a source of funds lined up. A lot of trouble and expense to go to if they haven't, the ratification of past borrowings could have waited til the AGM. Edit: Just to say I don't know what the current articles say about borrowing. They must define a limit but it what way? A numerical limit, £xm, a percentage of capitalisation or something else? | v11slr
12/5/2009 10:01 | Is this good or bad news? Notice of EGM Revision of Group Borrowings Limit and Ratification of Certain Past Borrowings The Board of Dyson announces that a circular convening an extraordinary general meeting ("EGM") has been posted to shareholders today. The circular contains proposals, for which shareholder approval is required, to increase the limit on borrowings imposed by Dyson's articles of association in order to be sufficient for the Group's borrowings requirements and also to ratify any breaches of the borrowings restriction that may have occurred since 31 March 2008. The EGM is to be held at 11.00 a.m. on 5 June 2009 at Buchanan Communications, 6th Floor, 45 Moorfields, London EC2Y 9AE | mrbt

09/5/2009 16:12 | Does anyknow know what is happening with GM in the USA. I believe that once the bankruptcy and the additional support the US Govt intends to offer to GM are sorted out, this share willl break out. | kajshares
