Dismal outlook in the USA as expected, and by the sound of it a lot of increased costs with extra storage.

No wonder the CEO will be moving on at the end of the year.

Saved by Asia it seems but how long that holds up is questionable imo.

I think the trading statement last year was one of the 4 warnings when they said the costs of sorting out the LA DC were higher than expected.

This time last year they released a trading statement (which was ok).
Hope a delay doesn't signal bad news.

From today's FT

Over the past week, pop star Olivia Rodrigo has played four sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden, where about 20,000 people, mostly young women, transformed New York’s storied arena into a haze of glitter and Doc Martens each evening.

As an addendum, the company stated that most of the stock in the US was core boots and that although there are more sale items in the US, in both men and women, this would imply that that these sale items represent a small proportion of the stock position.

We shall find out where things stand in the next week or so.

So comparing the US and UK websites, (i) there is no discounting on core boots in either region and (ii) in the US there are more fashion sale items and more availability.

For example, Docs US Men's 144 items are listed at present as being on sale versus 55 in the UK. For women's, in the US 203 items are listed on sale whereas in the UK there are 78 items

This would imply that Docs are still working through the stock overhang.

No discounts and just selling the core boot range. The stuff you posted is the flakey fashion range and even then there is limited availability. They are maintaining price discipline in boots, which accounts for most of the inventory. Btw I paid full price (no disco available) for a pair of Chelsea and lace ups. Interesting that they did not have my size (11) in the brown Chelsea’s - so something’s are selling well - so bought the blacks

Bought a pair today in Covent Garden, which is in a great location (next to Brandy Melville). A very diverse range of buyers in terms of age. Although busy, it was nothing like the Hoka store, which was buzzing.

No disc0, I said I closed my two small shorts when there was news of shareholder dissent, at just above breakeven. However, as I said it does not change my belief of seeing the trap door open, as I believe sales will be impacted and they will need to make large provisions.

It seems that story was what I expected, a bit of a false flag operation.

You posted previously going short at 95-100 believe it was, so good luck with your short.
Guess if you believe what you say after all your detailed research and analysis, then PW number 4 will be along possibly next week or the week after prior to their finals 30th May. Not holding at the moment so thanks for your concern.

Thanks for your detailed justification of your finger in the air target price, have you a timeline on that or not? (my guess is not). Complete waste of time.

Year end trading update was 14th April last. Clocko is just throwing around random numbers. I see plenty of people, but not too many, wearing Docs in London. On the tube you get one wearer per carriage.

50p then just a random number, given consensus TP is double that, are you saying profits are going to come in 50% lower?. At least throw up some reasoning otherwise it's absolutely meaningless.

It will come but I closed the two positions because of the gameplay disc0dave46.

However, once the game has been played out, I stand by my 50p after sales news.

Still waiting for some valid justification for your 50p call.So you are now saying a buyer will see true value and pay a substantial premium :)

They are just trying to get the share price up to unload imo as they know this is a lost cause, and depending on what they paid for their shares are likely to take a big hit. So they want a buyer to save their necks, and pay over the odds.

It will be for Permira to decide. Marathon does not even have a disclosable stake so their views will not count for much.
