Hargreaves hungry for more Domino’s gains Hargreaves Lansdown fund manager Steve Clayton is encouraged by Domino’s Pizza’s (DOM) update, believing it shows there is ‘clearly momentum’ in the business. Clayton, who holds the takeaway pizza group in his HL Select UK Shares and UK income funds, cited 2017 profits expected to be ahead of market expectations. ‘It’s a strong end to the year, and the group now needs to show a similarly strong first quarter, where it is up against easy comparatives for last year,’ he said. ‘Domino’s mis-read the market and got its seasonal promotion all wrong. ‘All the signs are encouraging and there is clearly momentum in the business.’ He added that Europe was starting to deliver ‘scale benefits’ and the UK is ‘firing on all cylinders’ meaning the outlook is positive. ‘We hold Domino’s in both of the HL Select funds because of its capital-light business model, where franchisees put up most of the investment needed by the chain, leading to strong cashflows and excellent dividend paying potential,’ said Clayton. The shares jumped 1.6% to 356.1p yesterday. Dec average stock-on-loan figures show a significant drop from Nov's 15.66% to 14.08%.. Short pizzas are becoming less popular on the menu..!

Disclosed shorts decreased a lot last week as 2 dropped below the reporting threshold.. (TTI to just 0.25%, GSA to only 0.49%), and since then Marshall Wace have increased slightly. htTps://shorttracker.co.uk/company/GB00BYN59130/ It would be good if this latest round of buy-back can break the remaining shorters though... BTW, Nov average stock-on-Loan was up slightly from Oct..

Market report: Investors grab a slice of Domino’s Pizza following share buyback Investors grabbed a slice of Domino’s Pizza after management whetted their appetite by snapping up a larger stake in its Iceland subsidiary and boosted hopes of bigger shareholder returns by announcing a £20m shares buy-back. The FTSE 250 firm almost doubled its stake in the Iceland business to 95.3pc for £26.7m and signalled its confidence by lifting the total amount of buy-backs announced in 2017 to £50m. The takeaway firm would have even more scope for acquisitions and could bump up shareholder returns more if it increased its debt, Numis analyst Richard Stube suggested. Investors piled in on the prospect of the bonanza continuing and shares rallied 16.4p, or 5.1pc, to 338.7p. Short tracker only shows holdings of more than 0.5%. So lots of shorters sitting at 0.49% will not be included... Stock-on-loan (via Euroclear) gives total loan stock... OK, so some of that loan stock might be used for other purposes, but I think it's a better estimation of total shorts.

I sold at the open - as 320 breaking and it's a liquid stock so going to get swung around by general market. Plus it's failed to put any momentum in over recent weeks
