Some things never change. Our deranged phantom downticker is still with us - he doesn't even like recognition of a good start to the week!! Why doesn't he just top himself and have done with this cruel world?

The DEC business model is being adapted to minimize need for equity raises. The capital market day slides (p104) referred to allocating additional cash generated for non-dilutive organic growth. The RNS just underlines the direction of travel.

BTW

That's a hell of a move on the US OTC shares late Friday. May be just noise on low volume.

Hi Carcosa

Have you got a link for that?

I don't doubt your conclusion for a moment but I'd like to read up a bit on the subject myself - it had slipped my memory a bit. (Or are you just referring to the 2/11/21 issue)

The proposed methane emission rules (remember them?)are now at a stage whereby they will exclude oil and gas wells that emit less than three tonnes a year of methane from regular inspections. This would leave the vast majority of wells outside the scope of emissions rectification.

So now the EPA anticipates a final methane rule by the end of the year; and I guess a 12-24 month compliance date(?)

' ..hedging price isn.t always wear ...' Too true!

Hedging is incredibly complex. A hedge can confer merely a right to buy at a given price, or at a price altering with volume, or an obligation to buy at a stated price, or any number of combinations of these and other rights and obligations. A party may also pay an initial capital sum for a right to buy at a given sum, and if a hedge proves expensive for one party the other may agree to allow that party to buy out of a vary the terms - at a price.

Managing such contracts is crucial to the success of both a producer's and a wholesale purchaser's business.

I do not think it is possible to read a great deal into crude percentages of how much future production is or is not hedged at a given date. All the outsider can really do is look at the results over a period of years, and see how profitable the business has been. For my money, DEC passes that test with flying colours.

Last year there was a trading statement on the 27th of Jan, nothing yet this year?

Futures curve for 2023 and 2024 looking very strong right now.

Not sure I would be too sad if they wanted to lock in a little more for next year at over $5, given that last update said they were only 55% hedged.

Unhedged 25% for this year has got off to a good start and will be boosting the 75% hedged at $3.03 nicely. Although the hedging price isn't always clear as they do some sort of conversion adjustment that I have never got my head around and so not sure how it compares to the quoted measurement/gas price.

One thing to complicate matters further is that again, AFAIK, a large trade may be processed in tranches over days or weeks, and it does not have to be reported until the final tranche goes through.

asp5 I don't think you're far off in your conclusion. There have been a number of days recently with large trades showing up at the close. They are definitely buys as the prices paid exceeded any throughout the day. It has been a mystery to me also as to why these large buys have failed to raise the share price

Also with this one you can buy at the bid price if your broker has DMA.

I've seen my buys represented as sells and vice versa.

Raw buy/sell info is not AFAIK released, algos interpret whether a trade was a buy or sell based on the spread and midpoint at the time but this doesn't work a lot of the time.

Total 14.556.239 5.857.642 1.313.508

Interesting to see that according to Advfn (trades tab) buy volume has been higher than sell volume this past week. Would assume this would have caused the share price to rise. Anyone know if this data is accurate or misleading?
