21/12/2021 16:50 | FreeTrade paid today. They sent note to say that there was an error with 30% and rectified it to 15%. Thankfully. They dont charge for any FX fees on dividends which is nice. | newtwatcher

21/12/2021 11:54 | TheTrotsky, To make you feel better IG not paid yet and blaming Citi, their broker/custodian. They don't get that they have chosen to use Citi, and so ultimately they are to blame. Citi pay late, get withholding tax wrong and tax on PID's wrong. Yet IG still refuse to switch broker/custodian. Probably a case of being too lazy to make the switch as in the short term it may create some work for somebody. Have written to June Felix, CEO, this morning to air my displeasure. | ![]() gary1966
21/12/2021 11:06 | cassini First point. Witholding tax reclaim rules are different by country depending on reciprocal tax rules. Interactive Investor and AJBell are both OK for US stocks - I use both Witholding tax is a difficult question as the treatment between SIPP and ISA is different as a SIPP is a regulated pension scheme. Depending on how you read the rules, ISA may be subject to witholding tax and then a reclaim. It isn't clear - I have trodden this path before and I have holdings in several US Companies. When buying US shares as a UK citizen, you pay 30% witholding on your dividends SIPPS (managed by organisations recognised by the US tax authorities) definitely have no witholding tax from the US as long as you have completed the W8 Ben ISA with a W8-Ben is 15% witholding Trading is 15% with the W8-Ben and you MAY be able to offset the witholding tax. There is a bit in your self assessment about Foreign Dividends Whether or not you are getting the tax deducted, this is a foreign company dividend and there is a tax liability. The DEC site is clear and what they say is consistent with a protracted discussion I had with AJB. Your broker may be paying you gross - that doesn't mean you aren't racking up a tax liability I don't think that the UK platforms really "get" these rules and they don't have an automated way of handling them. hxxps://ir.div.energ | ![]() marksp2011

21/12/2021 08:01 | Manchin's comments on Build Back Better are quite bullish for DEC. The market probably hasn't followed this properly. | ![]() johnhemming
21/12/2021 07:38 | Diversified Energy initiated with a Buy at Jefferies Yet another broker with a buy recommendation, most with a target of around 160p. Why does this share just languish at 99p ? Surely a buyback scheme would be a great benefit here . They borrow for considerably less than they pay out in dividends. Before you start I know all the arguments about money being better spent on paying debt or acquisitions but debt is only around 4% and this year we have had three major acquisitions. 99p is bloody pathetic . | ![]() lab305
21/12/2021 01:27 | With that amount of money invested you may be better off splitting it between brokers anyway as the FSA only guarantees 85k compensation in case of shenanigans. II charges are flat rate - 120 quid per annum for an ISA and dealing platform, 240 total p.a. if you want a SIPP as well. dyor etc | ![]() cassini
21/12/2021 01:08 | Youre spot on and yes halifax pay 70% of the gross, they say thats all they get coming from the us. They tell me that everybody is the same if paid via CREST. I really need to sort this but i hate changing stuff over. Ive just moved a lot of stuff from fidelity and it did my head in. | ![]() sunbed44
21/12/2021 00:33 | sunbed, You'd be losing more money in that time period due to withholding tax than I'd make on my entire DEC holding ;0) From your maths I see they're withholding the whole 30% ! As lab 305 says, if they won't see sense, it's time to move broker. II pays out on dec. With that number of shares you could afford to take out an II account for just that one holding... | ![]() cassini
20/12/2021 23:39 | Thats really good of you thanks for taking the time to write that. I need to look at is as based on the higher dividend next qtr im loosing 7727 pa sterling for my 200k shares for the holding tax reduction. I am looking to hold these for 5 years min unless any emission rules or taxes start to destroy this brilliant dividend. 5 x 7727 = 38636 quid and thats a years salary for some people | ![]() sunbed44
20/12/2021 22:39 | sunbed, Go up towards the top of this page and there's a bit in the header about ISAs/SIPPs and withholding tax. Near the bottom of that section there is a link, intro'd by the words 'further information:'. That link is a post of mine detailing info I got off the LSE DEC chat page. It implied that certain brokers, derived from banks, are not certified to completely refund withholding tax. I can't vouch for how true that is, but I think I included a link to the LSE page where the original debate took place. | ![]() cassini
20/12/2021 20:20 | Ditto, I have 100k shares in HL SIPP & got the quarterly £2,994.56 credited on 17th. Halifax are costing you your money sunbed44! | elpirata
20/12/2021 20:04 | My SIPP is with Hargreaves Lansdown. Divi paid in full and on time. As mentioned above they need you to complete a W-8 BEN before you trade the stock. | ![]() br1an |
