12/10/2021 12:45 | Only 15% deduction in an ISA or zilch in a SIPP. Where else would you get this yield with or without withholding tax? | ![]() bountyhunter
12/10/2021 12:43 | its only tickling 11.5% if you have NO withholding tax....thats the problem here | ![]() neilyb675
12/10/2021 12:42 | Yield tickling 11.5%. I'm lining up my reserve cash...just need to see a sub 100p capitulation IMO. | ![]() cassini
12/10/2021 12:41 | The yield at this level is between 11% and 12%! Will bounce back when the dust settles. | ![]() bountyhunter

12/10/2021 12:36 | I have another £10k ready - £2k PA divi for £20k isn't a bad return - especially when the dust settles it'll be likely head back up again. This is a gifthorse imvho, i thought i had missed this one, As they said, a few $hundred dollars parts plus a few manhours per well and they will be up to / above spec. 12/10/2021 12:33 | Same old rehashed journalism as a year or two ago for someone looking for a story or possibly worse, so long as the company shows it has a progressive ESG policy the share price will bounce back, today's RNS response is a good start and I expect more to come, no point in selling down here, what is the yield now, around 12%? | ![]() bountyhunter
12/10/2021 12:32 | "FFS not if the dividend is paid via CREST" Never noticed that one. Always had my US dividends paid in full. Lucky me. | ![]() medieval blacksmith
12/10/2021 12:31 | I've been eyeing this one - this has provided me an entry price ha! | ![]() farrugia

12/10/2021 12:24 | I have a large holding here. The company clearly knew the line Bloomberg was going to take, and was prepared with its rebuttal. Well decommissioning costs and environmental regulation and costs are the big issue for a gas producer. That is nothing new. Either one considers DEC to be corner cutting wide boys, out to make a quick buck and run for the hills leaving a mess behind, in which case sell, or one considers them a professional outfit running a responsible long term business,in which case a 20% drop looks to me like a buying opportunity, particularly in the current energy market. If I had a crystal ball I would have sold yesterday and repurchased today. Sadly I have no crystal ball. I think it is probably a bit late to sell now. I have a large holding and do not wish to unbalance my portfolio, but I shall look to buy a few more if the price goes under 100. If my holding was smaller, I would be buying hand over fist. I look at it this way: if the company are to cut the dividend by 25% that would produce a very healthy fund to pay for decommissioning and leak control, and DEC would still be a very high dividend payer. Moreover, tighter regulation will favour the stronger players, restrain production and keep prices high. The world needs gas for the foreseeable future. Moreover, as BP demonstrated a few years ago, the real risk in hydrocarbon production is a polluting catastrophe. A single disaster nearly brought the huge BP down, and the cost in the succeeding years has been immense. Gas production dos not carry that catastrophe risk. A company can adjust to tightening regulatory rules and increasing well closure costs. Gas still seems to me to be the sweet spot in the hydrocarbon energy production sector. | ![]() 1knocker
12/10/2021 12:19 | Ah, the creatures have started to arrive... Anyone want to bet how long it takes 'Buywell' to arrive? ;0) | ![]() cassini

12/10/2021 12:11 | Agreed, a great post by adg. The problem now is sentiment; damage done regardless of true facts. Best advice may be to sell into any recovery bounce.....if there is one! | ![]() skyship
12/10/2021 12:05 | Great post adg. Journalists will want as many eyeballs reading their article as possible so they are not completely unbiased participants ..... | ![]() asp5
12/10/2021 12:03 | "I still love the 11% gross divi, still circa 7% with 30% withholding tax deducted." Held in a SIPP with someone like HL you get it all. | ![]() medieval blacksmith
12/10/2021 12:00 | Sold my full holding on the way down here. Need to see how this settles down before getting back in but hopefully ill be back before next ex div date. The big issue here is a bit of perception/ reality stuff. This carbon neutrality and ESG stuff is MASSIVE profile and while theres a big question mark with DEC here, im out. There statement is simply sticking plaster stuff for me and I want to see some more concrete (no pun intended) before jumping back in. I still love the 11% gross divi, still circa 7% with 30% withholding tax deducted. Would be even better at sub a quid a share. | ![]() sunbed44 |
