Someone dumping their load at 100p?

There's no way it will turn blue! that would need >127p as a closing price!

Regarding the latest acquisition and hedging, see this post:

Plutonian7 Oct '21 - 16:24 - 1118 of 1298

Summing up though, the field was acquired unhedged, 50% has now been hedged and the rest will be hedged by December, 'opportunistically'.

In terms of the main bulk of DEC's production, 2024 hedging is now starting, locking in higher prices (fracking can restart at these prices and increase supply so good idea to lock in higher prices in the future now).

The thing to remember is DEC is a hedging company with a gas company attached - they have foregone the wild profits (and busts) for a smoother cashflow profile. However, they must be managing to tweak things here and there as with the latest acquisition, maybe infill drilling too etc.

Thanks sometimes you just have to take an educated gamble and hope for the best. Could all still go wrong yet though.

I bought 1% of my portfolio. Couldn't get 95p. Tranches around 96/97p.

Farrugia,

Don't quote me on this but I believe a good amount of 2022 production is hedged too.

There was a discussion on this board recently about the exact hedging numbers.

The latest field acquired, only announced in the last week, allegedly was not hedged so that is being hedged at more current gas prices but again, this was discussed by someone more in the know on this board last week. Of course the latest field is only a part of their entire portfolio.

Yes....because of the algos......look at the "AT" trades......that is some hedge fund, or other bunch of scammmers manipulating the share price ....up or down.

The divi is safe.......and should go higher as they hedge at higher rates going forward.

'Going down to 80p?

Sell? Get out now?'

BE GREEDY WHEN OTHERS ARE FEARFUL COMES TO MIND? I can't say it can't go to 85p-90p short-term but how long will it stay there? Natural gas prices as a commodity is over 100% from last year so the world needs energy and gas is arguably one of the cleanest fossil fuels. (much cleaner than coal or even oil!) Director buys are likely to be incoming soon too. Yield is fantastic at present prices. My one rule is never to sell on panic. I didn't have a position in this yesterday but I was eyeing it. Now i have some 50k shares. My only regret is that I might have bought too soon!
