Good note from Stifel today................

"Stifel’s Round meanwhile underlined what is described as "positive valuation read through", highlighting that the broker’s estimate of DEC’s NAV amounted to 3,116p per share following the transaction".

The spot price of US natural gas rose close to 7% today.

Whilst, due to 80%ish hedging this doesn't have much of an impact currently, looking at the Henry Hub futures for 2025 ( where I suspect DEC is most currently active) these are all up @ 1.5% and vary between $3.9 and $3.2 for the months of the year. That looks good to me.

Where's the response to the crooked Democrats letter though? It was due yesterday. Stakeholders have a right to know.

I reckon the response is already with the gang of 4 as most of the requested info was already within Dec's ESG & Annual Reports if the cttee had cared to look instead of regurgitating those old Bloomberg & Ohio River Valley Institute articles.

Its not really price sensitive rns worthy, but I'd like to see DEC continue to seize the initiative they started by 'transparent engagement' by confirming via PR Newswire & Reach the docs are already with the cttee & that DEC have requested dates to appear befre the Cttee to answer any questions arising ie put the ball firmly in the Dems court & send them bloody reminders if the cttee clam up!

This may even be an opportunity to change USA fund managers perception of DEC from unethical to the orphan well capping solution - go for it DEC!

Shorts heading out of the door as predicted.. :o)

Adage Capital Management L.P -0.66% short still to be covered.
TT International Asset Management Ltd -0.13% short still to be covered.

Quite a hatchet job between them, the senators demands, the timing of the NYSE listing, anyone might think they were all connected..?

The FCA's short positions daily update shows TT Int. dropped to 0.13% on 03/01/24.

I wonder if tomorrow's report will show Adage Cap have followed suit.

Some large trades after hours have pushed the day's volume up to 486,469 (9,729,380 in old shares), equivalent to a tad over 1% of the company.

Hopefully a fair chunk of those are headed for cancellation.

Slowly, slowly, catchy monkey. Up nearly 4% today, but I would be happy with 1% as long as it was most/every day. Surely this would put fear in any shorter's mind. My best scenario from here is another tranche of wells being packaged with a debt 'asset backed securitisation'. Thus proving that the DEC business model is alive and in good health. Coupled with an xd expense at the end of February shorters could be badly burned.

Personally I think more share repurchases probably work well. Share finance costs more than 20% in dividends and so is pretty expensive, can sucking gas out of the ground generate that good a return? There is of course the secondary benefit of keeping the share price up and making the shorters squeal.

A nice steady rise today of around 4% so far, that's better to see than the gyrations of late.
Buys more than 2x sells.

Why the obsession with the US price?? It's driven by LSE.

Why dispose of one thing to buy another? Surely paying down debt is a sensible choice in today's inflationary environment?
