#1Knocker, same, Barclays have a 10 day policy for dividends, some land same day in the afternoon 4pm, some after the close, but typically anything that need a USD FX swap takes longer..

Sometimes it has been beneficial to receive a week behind as prices of the follow on buys (not the DRIP) have been advantageous, sometimes it goes the other way, swings and roundabouts I guess over a year.. :o)

It is disappointing that HL did not manage to credit the dividend yesterday. Usually, I think they are prompt with DEC dividends. My impression is that they are getting worse in crediting dividends. Twice this year I have had to query payments which were over a week late. It is irritating and time-wasting to have to keep a watch to check that the dividends do arrive. That is particularly tiresome in the case of smaller dividends which are easy to forget about. It seems poor business management, raising doubts as to the competence of their administrative procedures and browning off clients.

No stamp duty is payable any more due to the NYSE listing, the same is true of other dual listed shares on the LSE and TSX for example, the secondary listing must be a main market.

Stamp duty is a tax on registering title in this country.

The new dual listing has an impact on that?

Dunno.

But Interactive Investor and X-O have stopped charging stamp duty on this share since it listed on NYSE.

I'd settle for it just calming down for a month and perhaps drifting up.

How does HL manage to avoid stamp duty on DEC share purchases? I did not think there was any way round this. I know from personal experience that Interactive Investor and Barclays charge stamp duty on DEC share purchases.
