Scrwal. Maybe.... we will see. The fact remains that the share is trading at a 50% discount to NAV, 50% gross margins,huge return on equity and a steady flight path to deleveraging. The undeveloped acreage is worth somewhere between $200-$500MM and the pipeline business???? I think most of us who are here are for that reason. There is a huge and varied sophisticated investor audience in the USA which knows this industry and which frankly does not exist in the UK. There are a dozen oil and gas barons could probably buy DEC p.a if they wanted. It can take a while but markets eventually recognise value.

The impact of the US listing may not be a great help given the current price woes. The profile the company may have could be one of a new entity being listed which has been bashed by various media sources in the past for various reasons rightly or wrongly. Gas and oil prices are falling with DEC hedging future production at lower prices. The dividend yield is ultra ultra high for a US company where 3-4% is regarded as high so this may be viewed as a red flag.

The consolidation ratio is a warning in a way because if the directors were fully confident there was no need for a 1:20 ratio as a 1:10 would have put the US price comfortably above the minimum requirement for listing going forward.

Listing on US exchange starts Monday 11th. All other things being equal, you'd expect interest to pick up from then.

Share Consolidation Dividend Impact

Diversified Energy Company PLC (LSE: DEC) completed the consolidation of its ordinary shares of GBP0.01 each on a 20 for 1 basis, with the ordinary shares of GBP0.20 each being admitted to the premium listing segment of the Official List of the Financial Conduct Authority and to trading on the London Stock Exchange's main market for listed securities, at 8 a.m. (GMT) on Tuesday, December 5(th) 2023.

All declared dividend amounts will be adjusted appropriately to reflect the number of ordinary shares of GBP0.20 each held by shareholders as of the respective record dates, with the quarterly dividend payment for the declared dividend amount per ordinary share reflecting the consolidation.

Illustrative Dividend Payment Example:

The illustrative dividend payment example provides shareholders with a calculation for how the declared dividend payment will be adjusted for shares as of the record date.

Pre-Consolidation : 100 shares x $0.04375 (declared dividend) = $4.375 (total shareholder payment)

#1Knocker, indeed, as the years tick by the income de-risks the share holding against costs, only year 3 here, but stacking up fast.. :o) Now showing as USD 0.875 on dividend data for the next payout so the tracking websites are catching up..Oil and Gas are getting a beating currently, contrary to the fears around Middle East shipping channels impacting prices, the US are driving up volumes overriding the OPEC+ cuts so it is a tug of war right now..Not long to see US trading which has to introduce new buyers..?

Could be another bad day tomorrow looking at spot oil and natural gas. I know they shouldn't be relevant but DEC seems to follow.

LLB, yes. Whatever fears anyone may have about the dividend, the consolidation should not be one of them.

When a generous 10% dividend rate rises to 22% because the share price more than halves, of course one wonders what one may have missed. DEC looks OK to me, but nothing is certain. And one has to acknowledge that a share which pays for itself in under 5 years without any increase in the dividend is a rarity indeed - that is mispricing on an epic scale.

I shall feel a lot happier when (fingers and toes crossed) the declared December and March dividends have been paid and banked. They, with the dividends I have already received, will de-risk my holding substantially. In the meantime, while I am not selling, neither am I increasing my already substantial holding.

1knocker - Just look at the proper page on the FTSE250 dividends and dates and amounts and you will see it reads 87 cents, 20 times more than previous!!! Look in the right place and let the CEO and Biatd get on with things!

A new dividend announcement has to be legally made since the current shares have a new denomination otherwise no dividend per the old announcement can be paid.

#1Knocker, I see what you are driving at, although a dividend has been declared, it has yet to be corrected and adjusted 20:1 which I expect to happen sometime soon..

Share holding consolidation done and divisible by 20 here, neat numbers, but confirmation of the next dividend upgraded to reflect this would be a good idea..
