Confused. Didn't the Bloomberg article say DLG rejected Ageas approach. Is the RNS from Ageas a new approach or the one that was rejected. Are we expecting an RNS from DLG?

Strange how the share price gets hammered in the morning? I wonder how many through in the towel before this announcement?

Ageas will have to do better than 233p equivalent for my shareholding. 275p and I will think about it. I am expecting these to recover organically to 250p within three years.

According to the breakdown on Simply Wall St, DLG is 94% in the hands of institutions and only 3.3% with the general public.

Ageas are interesting. I was not sure they had the stomach or firepower for this size buy in the UK, but they have always been keen on controlling distribution - including by breaking every rule in the book with the brokers they own. They have an obvious advantage over PE outfits as a trade buyer since they can get big synergies from areas like claims. The question in my mind is whether any other trade buyer may emerge to drive the price up. I would have thought Allianz and Aviva would be unlikely due to their current market share, but it is not impossible. That does not leave many possibilities big enough to both pay the price and maximise synergy savings. Either way DLG are now firmly in play so let the fun begin.

I put a sell order through a few minutes ago and it was rejected. Then saw the price rocketing. Something is up. Will hold for a while longer.
