28/9/2005 08:12 | And I've just bought back in- I see a fair bit of upside now. Maybe the share price has been more volatile than the business. | silverfern
27/7/2005 08:09 | I sold just after the 11th as I sensed the second wave of pricce rise was not gong to hold. Will look to get back n after the next results | silverfern
30/6/2005 23:37 | Just in case any DPLM holders/traders don't realise.....it will be going on to the SETSMM trading system on Monday week (11th July). IMO that will mean wider spreads a lot of the time, plus worse liquidity - we'll soon see! | samg99
03/6/2005 18:31 | and the beat goes on (if you blank out May) | silverfern
27/5/2005 08:26 | well I agree the p/e is underdemanding and that the sell off might be overdone and that a p/e of 15 would = 780p[ but is there anythig else that might make us think the price could recover and set new highs? | silverfern
15/5/2005 00:30 | perspective is a wonderful thing, and anyone holding since the days of 300p might think this was due- no share rises indefinitly. I did get out at around 730p because of that; however any further fall and I will be back in. The market seems very unkind to any company that doesn't turn water into wine (though in a climate where winning a third term with a 60 seat majority is seen as a reason to resign it'snot surprising) THe chart looks painful but it's only back to where we were in February and the company is doing exactly as it has been for the last two years. 10/5/2005 15:05 | I am happy to hold this one. The results were pretty much what I expected - it was no surprise that the basic EPS was well down, as the same period last year was boosted considerably by the exceptional profits on the sale of the Stamford site. Similarly, the fact that the Somagen acquisition adds to the goodwill amortisation should surprise nobody. Underlying profits are well up. Looking to the full year, Yahoo had a forecast (1 broker) of 46.1p (11.9% growth on last year), which would be 51% covered by the 1H result. The average forecast has now been increased following the addition of a second estimate at 47.3p. | topstar
09/5/2005 18:33 | I thought Numis moving EPS forecast downwards plus the disappointing numbers and European outlook from Tyco, presaged a more negative outlook. It was enough to get me out of the stock before these results. US operations appear to be progressing fine, but European & UK operations appear slow. DPLM has been tipped around, and is no doubt full of nervy punters who will sell at the drop of a hat. | shuisky
09/5/2005 10:37 | And on seeing those results, the world is less than impressed.. | m.t.glass
20/4/2005 08:34 | White smoke from Diploma - 9 MAy is results day | silverfern
13/4/2005 23:00 | Not too long tooo wait though and maybe a run up a bit before results... | gswredland
13/4/2005 18:32 | I don't expect a lot of action until the results on May 9th. Hopefully then another push upwards. | drdoom
13/4/2005 18:08 | Where are we heading next?Any thoughts? | gswredland
05/4/2005 14:45 | Still good value with a tasty dividend too, a good 20% upside in the next 9 months but DYOR. QX | quantumx
01/4/2005 17:20 | thanks- a buying opportunity right now methinks- there is a share price pattern there. | silverfern
28/3/2005 22:51 | Having neglected this thread for 3 years (and forgotten I started it!), I have now added charts and things to the header. | m.t.glass
22/3/2005 15:59 | I think the ECM warning has hit market sentiment in general. DPLM, as a distributor, is expected to fall in sync. | shuisky
21/3/2005 11:23 | More sells than buys this morning yet the price is higher. Wonder why!! | gswredland
09/3/2005 15:36 | Some nice buying today in, what appears to be a fairly illiquid share. Look forward to a tidy hike in the dividend too. | quantumx
03/3/2005 11:35 | From todays Shares Mag ref directors buying, good margins, growth potential etc. "Diploma also has net cash of £17.9 million, which should provide the scope for earnings-enhancing acquisitions. Interims due in mid-May could reignite interest in the shares, which have enjoyed 22% relative strength over the past year." | mdrans1
09/2/2005 18:18 | yep, one of my easier decisions , silverfern/faz | faz
09/2/2005 13:21 | Your HO short term looks to be in reach. Good Call! | quantumx
24/1/2005 19:55 | I should have bought more- will do anyway I can;t be bothered to research other shares when this one is likely to hit 900p in the next year - 750p short-term IMHO DYOR see post 38 | silverfern |
