Devro DVO was churned out on my screener this morning with both fundies and TA looking rather solid at the moment.

Ive hopefully caught it with MACD turning positive to back up the Flag chart pattern on the share price chart.

The recent rise in energy and commodity prices may be impacting the share price imv.

Also, there was always going to be some profit taking following such a quick
rise.

Moving up very nicely now. Any possibility of bid by large food company? Remember there was a bid in early 2007 for approx 150p for share - dont recall the details but this potential buyer maybe back at a higher price. Would not surprise me if there is a bid at 200p in the not too distant future.

Good results were expected - recall that in the November update a result ahead of the market consensus was flagged up. Even so.....PBT rose by 33.5% to £25.1m, EPS by 42.7% and the DPS by 12.4% leaving all market projections for dead. There is an analysts' meeting scheduled for 11am. With a full year's benefit from the cost actions in the Czech Republic and continuing organic growth the group is probably good for c 13p of EPS in 2010 (vs 11.7p for 2009) whilst it is indicated that dividends are to rise in line with underlying EPS. TP160p. There has been and remains an emerging markets story with Devro as producers of sausages in countries such as China switch from using gut to collagen casings and as meat consumption grows apace in emerging markets: BUY
