21/9/2010 09:49 | Selftrade will not let me put a new stop loss on this because the dividend is paid on 1st October. They say it has to finish 3 days before then.Never heard of such a thing before. Are they crazy? | trewsa
17/9/2010 10:19 | £2.50 thanks Devro! | assagai
09/9/2010 06:39 | Also agree ref RPT . Hold but smaller numbers in SIPP. sorry OT | assagai
09/9/2010 00:52 | Yes, thank heavens for hard times and sausages! Call me stupid, I prefer brave, but I'm punting RPT as being seriously undervalued with a number of possibilities for a swift change in sentiment. Whereas, albeit still a micro cap, RAM is probably my equivalent of your MONI. Current corporate action last piece in jigsaw. Probably at a stage similar to MONI's in early 09 but in my view will turn profitable on a faster track. Reckon near breakeven this half, profitable next year, really motoring in 2012. Naturally, no advice intended. Good to chat! | steddieddie
08/9/2010 22:49 | Thanks Steddie good to hear from you. Devro has been a gem for me and currently my largest investment. I have reason to believe we are still quite a long way from the summit, however! Currently building positions in MONI and APF with some fairly serious "punts" on CZA. We shall see. CDN - i was probably a bit over scornfull of a couple of posters on there but I really do fear for some who invest. I was lucky to add a sizeable chunk of freebies due to the last debacle. | assagai
08/9/2010 21:32 | No, still very much around looking out for life-changers such as this one in which to accumulate major holdings while the radar is focussed elsewhere and then wait patiently. That said, I can't believe I started this thread in 2001! TRT, well I thought it was a strong candidate for the same strategy and maybe is again from current levels but having been one of the lucky ones to get out with a decent profit 2-3 years ago before the true rot set into the SP, I've moved on and am not currently minded to re-visit. Would feel like old hat. Always plenty of alternatives and it's the early investigation and research that I enjoy best. I caught sight of you on CDN the other day, another long-term hold for me from just before the gold into coal days. Another place where candy and babies has oft sprung to mind. Anyway, sorry for O/T, just wanted to say hello. | steddieddie
08/9/2010 21:10 | Hi Steddie - thought you had evaporated! No interest in TRT anymore? Quite a bit going on now. | assagai
08/9/2010 21:04 | Hi Assagai :-)) | steddieddie
26/8/2010 10:19 | Well in a way that is better all round as DEVRO were clearly the best qualified candidate, (ahead of time). | assagai
25/8/2010 20:31 | Sorry, I should have elaborated. If it wasn't for the slot vacated by Arriva they would have had to have waited for the review next month. Your broker probably explained that the review decision is announced after close on Wed, 8 Sept and is based on the market caps at close on Tue, 7 Sept. The changes then take effect on Mon, 20 Sept. Simple really! | typo56
25/8/2010 17:11 | Typo - not arguing the point but are you sure the decision is Friday (27th) Aug. My broker gave me some weird formula like wednesday after the first friday in september (or something like that) my question was of course DEVRO linked. 250 & £2.50 here we come. EDIT - Ah I see what you are saying, it's a special entry ahead of time replacing Arriva. | assagai
25/8/2010 14:53 | yes thanks Typo - just seen replacing Arriva. Hence the spike last night I expect. | felix99
25/8/2010 14:09 | Devro is promoted to the FTSE 250 index this Friday (27 Aug). | typo56
24/8/2010 16:49 | more likely safe haven and 250 entry doing it imho. Be time to sell as funds increase their weighting perhaps if it gets ahead of itself | felix99
24/8/2010 16:21 | Breakout imminent, the rest of the world is going to rats, but there will always be demand for tasty bangers!! | nellie1973
21/8/2010 18:17 | Decent write-up in "Shares" | killieboy
21/8/2010 07:57 | Devro ranked 322 of qualifiers at end of play friday. 3 places inside automatic qualification to FTSE 350 | assagai
16/8/2010 07:45 | If we can hold recent high then entrance to the 250 next month looks very much on the cards. Funds then have to buy and a move to £2.50 would seem ineviatable. | assagai
11/8/2010 16:45 | Exactly - new high in the face of the storm. just gets better. | assagai
11/8/2010 16:38 | Good performance today given the state of the wider market. Will definately be adding to this position when the opportunity arises. | ibudge
04/8/2010 19:09 | Need to breach that recent high soon for any chance of a breakout. | nellie1973
03/8/2010 12:15 | Bought in 15 minutes before closing yesterday at 2.06, well happy with the rise :-) | laidback dan
03/8/2010 09:13 | lol, i meant Fri. Great set of results :) | eddcooper
03/8/2010 08:39 | not at all - £10m is after all the result of a theoretical change in the discount rate if the business keeps performing like this it will become much less of an issue over time see 2016 above | phillis
03/8/2010 08:33 | In the scheme of things, a pension deficit of 42mm vs an enterprise value of 320mm and 50mm annual free cash flow is something many FTSE companies would die for. It does look like there is a structural shift to collagen casings in the global market. | wjccghcc |
