We know this of course.
What is your point?

Should DEMG carry on regardless as they certainly couldn't afford to fund a legal challenge?

They would need to rely on the experience that they have developed of the technology to retain the confidence of hospitals.

However, given the enormous margin on probes their reverse engineering would be very profitable if it found a willing market.

To put this news in perspective, I would mention that over the years I tried many times to interest Ewan in the idea of addressing the China market. Each time I received the same response that they were concerned with the issue of IP protection.
Nigel gave me a similar response at one of the AGMs.

--> The US has put IP theft in China at over US$500bn a year (cant remember the report it was in ...try US Commerce if anybody wants to track it down)

No one would suggest that there has been a dramatic change in the IP position in China
so one has to accept that this may be an opportunity but it is also a risk.

The other point that I notice is that Pacific Medical has strong connections with GE Health for whom they are agents in the region.

This could lead to a bid for DEMG if Pacific Medical open some (hospital ) doors.

I think the company are a little naive in the PR dept, this isn't the first time they've undersold themselves, wasn't there a 0730 hrs RNS which would have missed any morning brokers comments/ upgrade? In there defence they did publish this news on the website. I don't think there was any collusion with the directors buying it was the last possible moment for Ewan to exercise his options.

Doesn't sound right to me and suspect even more that this is not being announced to protect directors who filled their boots. The test here is about whether the news will move the share price and it did, so it should have been announced. The compromise is to announce on REACHThe 18-24 months comment is facile. Imagine if they announced a deal with a major corporate or hospital chain to start in 18-24 months which would treble sales. Of course that would have to be announced. Furthermore, 18-24 months falls within the period normally covered by market expectationsAnyway, a decent 400,000 buy has just gone through so onwards & upwards

Having had email contact with Andy Mears, the argument is that there won't be any RNS because this deal 'will not significantly impact the business for 18-24 months'. I am a little surprised at this but you have to take Andy at his word.

Incidentally he confirmed that as usual there will be a trading statement in January.

Are they waiting for something else prior to announcing? Is so, what could that be?

Curious that they haven't announced the good news about the new Far East distributor. They are also the distributor for the Australian Doppler haemodynamic monitoring company, USCOM. 60% of USCOM's sales are in these Asian regions and there must be customers looking for a continuous Doppler solution, which only Deltex can provide

Mms must be short of stock paying well over the bid to buy them in, nice to see healthy 2 way trading, Sp has risen 35% since directors buys.

I think the recent director buys mean there will be no trading update until after the 18th.

So the Far East distribution deal still hasn’t been announced. Presumably they are saving it for what should be a very good trading statement!

I think Andy will say it will have no short term financial impact, so why waste his time, especially since could mention in trading update.

ZhoOn second thoughts, the price going up since I/we highlighted, shows this is price sensitive so should have been a full RNS rather than REACHDon't know why, but something tells me this is an issue for the non-execs. Wonder if they knew about it before they bought super cheap shares last month??MrC

Hi mrC2u,

Cheers.

>>Think they should have put this out on RNS REACH as a minimum.>>

I think so too. I've emailed Andy Mears suggesting that he do this. His address is andy.mears@deltexmedical.com if anyone wants to add to the pressure.

Thanks for digging that out zhoThink they should have put this out on RNS REACH as a minimum. Looks like Andy has done well so the Board should have its eye on the ball and be getting behind him and shouting about it. As I recall, LID have announced moves into China at least twice, maybe three times (or was that Japan?)Still always nice to have news ahead of the market and good to see it moving the priceMrC

But it has got to be price sensitive information because it is a whole new market. They will sell some product and so are bound to increase turnover this year.
