Debs has a market cap of circa £47 million, take away 30% and we have a market cap of circa £33 million for Ashley to buy right now. If he put up £45-£50 million for the remaining shares, he could have the lot. A lot of big investors want to leave and they will happily take a 20-30% premium today. Unless Ashley waits for admin and trys to buy the remainder of Debs for half that price.

Ashley does not want to lose £100 million, he is going to do ANYTHING to save his equity from the creditors. Most likely is administration now, CVA is no good since the creditors will be on his tail. Ashley wants all of Debenhams but none of the debt with it.

Perhaps not. He already has around £100 million invested in Debenhams and with his 30% holding he basically calls the shots. If he lets them go into admin he loses control and has to compete with others who want to buy the best bits. He might do better with a CVA and then make a low ball offer for the shares he doesn't already own. If I remember right he paid around £100 million to buy HofF from admin, it could cost him much more for Debenhams.

LATEST NEWS:

"Mr Bucher remains in the chief executive role but no longer has a seat on the board after Mr Ashley and another shareholder, Landmark capital, voted against his re-appointment."


According to Bloomburk as he no longer has a seat on the board he has to stand in the corner of the board room and face the wall which be very embarrassing for all concerned.


He is often seen playing marbles while board members discuss what urgent action needs taking.

Boomtime at Boohoo

"Boohoo has released a trading statement and it all seems pretty healthy.
It has reported a 44% jump in sales for the four months to 31 December, compared to the same period in 2017.

Sales in the US soared by 78%.

And it's not driving sales at the expense of profits. Boohoo's profit margin rose 1.7% to 54.2%.

It has also raised its estimate for sales growth for the financial year which ends 28 February."
