The only good news if MA and his BB chums get their way and the company goes into admin is that a few of you 24/7 saddos will suddenly have a lot of time on your hands.
No point being called debsdowner if there is no Debenhams to talk about.
30000 jobs on the line but never mind if you are proven right

Mike Ashley's "hang grenade" puts Debtenhams on the brink says the Telegraph:

Debsdowner take on the matters of late:-

The onslaught by the press continues and it will do until Debtenhams demise. Its making good press articles and Mike Ashley's controversial business style is better than any TV drama at the moment.

Debtenhams board should think themselves fortunate he didn't vote all the board off in one fell swoop like he did post his acquisition of House of Fraser after calling them fit to burn.

His sword is sharper than a surgeons scalpel one fell blow and their heads would have been cut clean off with no jagged ends of flesh left behind.

The man doesn't mince his words he calls a spade a spade and if he thinks they have been cooking the books more heads will roll.

He has a cavalier attitude he isn't a tad bothered about the old boys club Eaton educated, he had little sympathy in executing Sir Cheshire who has been knighted and had to throw in the towel and scurry away with his tail between his legs. What an embarrassment for Sir Cheshire.

The last time I saw anything as brutal was a video of the Chain Saw Massacre.

The remaining board directors must be frightened to death of what fate will become of them next.

Will he have any sympathy with the new FD as she is a newbie or is he just tightening the thumb screws because he likes to hear her squirm.

The next episode is expected tomorrow book your tickets now they are in demand when the drama continues.

Yes Lord Wolfson well clued up.

Administration or CVA is only outcome now. The sale of Madasin would have given the company a bit more time but not at a distressed price.

I think we both warned they were unlikely to get a good price for Madasin any buyer wouldn't rush in when they might get a better price on administration.

Have said all along Ashley wouldn't make a bid for the company nor anyone else and take the billions of leases on, they would have to be completely stupid even if they could get the company for a mere £1.

After administration it all changes a potential buyer can pick and chose the best bits of the group but shareholders wont get anything as the administrators take their fees first the Tax comes next then the preferred creditors.

As for posters thinking the saga will go on for months that just wont happen.

The situation critical now the banks wont be happy over the board disruption it will all hands on deck emergency meetings.

The best that shareholders can hope for is some money off vouchers once the company as folded and that probably wont happen.

robot,

Have to check with my GP whether any operation I have had has some metal implants. if they are stainless steel I may be OK but will check first better to be safe than sorry.

I like to be cautious as I do with my investment advice. The principle being if there is doubt do nothing I am sure you understand.

Qantas ,if they want to dream the impossible dream on {0 pence }Then this is what they can do , free speech and all that .

Its a pity they have no views or insight of what a fantastic company Debenhams will be in a year or so .

Changes are ongoing and everyone is working very hard to bring the new revamped Debenhams to fruition.

We have our own views and they should respect us as we respect their views .

Debsdowner it is very slight rust problem the mrs robot has , cure rust is now turning the rust to hard metal again , so you dont need to worry about catching anything as I presume you dont have any metal dangly bits .or do you !?.

Debtenhams gives away warm clothing in Edinburgh:

"The freezing winter temperatures can be perilous for some of the most vulnerable people in society as they battle the elements to stay alive while sleeping on the streets. But thanks to hundreds of potentially life saving donations from people and businesses across the city, Edinburgh has shown its true propensity to stretch out a caring hand to those in need. An appeal as part of Edinburgh Gamechanger, a public social partnership founded by Hibs, Hibernian Community Foundation and NHS Lothian working with others, notably the Cyrenians, and the Edinburgh Cheer campaign, resulted in a hoard of top quality garments to guard against the extreme cold. The public and retailers including Jenners, Debenhams and John Lewis gave warm clothing and sleeping bags to the Easter Road drop-off point.

What a good idea giving their clothes away to the homeless I said previously the stores could be used as hostels looks like they are half way there to taking on my ideas.

Walter QI do wonder about you being an investor, you seem to know sweet fa.It was Milestone Resources (7.3% holding) and SPD (29.7% holding) that

FT says this?

Are they the same company Landmark did the FT get it wrong.

At the company’s annual meeting on Thursday, Mr Ashley’s Sports Direct — Debenhams’ biggest shareholder — combined with Landmark Group, another large investor.

Am a bit wary of cumming with you after I heard of the rash, there is a particular strain that is incurable I dread to think what I may catch. Get your testing done first then I will consider.

As to a satire about trolling I shall think about that I am as open as Debtenhams are for new ideas!

Numpty NumptyYou confirm how this will be £3.48 and when (don't say Christmas we've been there done that). You live in the same fantasy world as Walter Q, both completely delusional and clueless. If you are betting on a squeeze forget it.Most on here keep mentioning CVA, have said for a long time that IMO this will go prepack admin, possibly within next few months, March at the latest IMO. MA has already got his major shareholder support to vote down CVA and wouldn't expect that the landlords would disagree!!........then the only other insolvency option is a prepack which would suit MA down to the ground. As Q would say (but clearly never does), DYORDon't get burnt my friend......here or elsewhere if you know what I mean (doubt you do though).
