I don’t know whether the price reflects the unlikelihood of Covid passports, was already a far-fetched idea, or whether it had even been baked in. However it seems implausible, so maybe the price is just based purely upon the results, and the fact that the revenue and profits will be hit by the cessation of the actual travel passport contract. Likely just consolidating as it is, and the fact that the company is now on a stronger footing.

You misread the rns chessman2. The chairman sold 500k and his wife bought 510k, so a net buy of 10,000.

Two buys totalling 1,010,000 shares, by the chairman and his wife, are a show of great confidence in DLAR.

IMO this is a share to continue holding.

Humble apologies to all for my incorrect post. Only 10,000 shares bought!!

Michael Gove says Covid-19 vaccine 'freedom passport' isn't going to happen

The government is in talks with De La Rue over the supply of coronavirus “immunity certificates” and authenticating vaccines.

The printing company said yesterday that it was in the early stages of negotiations with Whitehall and pharmaceuticals groups.

“We have very strong products for authenticating vaccines and test kits and providing immunity certificates,” Clive Vacher, 50, De La Rue’s chief executive, said. “It is still very early days. The government still hasn’t made decisions on what they want and pharmaceuticals companies are still deciding on how they want to protect vaccines through the supply chain."

I'm just flagging it if people are taking profit projections to produce an EPS forecast.

It does indeed have a far better balance sheet, with minimal net debt and good prospects. It's just a question of valuation of those prospects, rather than the existential issue that was priced in (wrongly, ha!) at 40p.

And to value it you need to be using the right number of shares going forward.

Note also that 180 was the resistance from the spike up from 40p in June. It was always going to be retested - this retrace is perfectly healthy.

But there's also a massive reduction in debt going forward from funds raised..company had a massive interest cost but now debt is almost eliminated. Will post if I see a EPS forecast. All looks good to me but they've had a run and no obvious short term further catalyst. Business is far tidier , well financed and in areas where we should see growth and improving margins. On a forward PE of likely about 12 and cash flow generative looks relative value...it is also likely to be on takeover watch lists, either side of the business could command a premium price sold off to rival , ideal Private Equity candidate.

Just taking stock, prospects down the pipe looking much better, and business being re-aligned for the future. Extra number of shares already reflected, so not a factor, with it has become a far stronger balance sheet.

Just remember (former holder around the time of the right issue) that there are 195m shares in circulation now. The weighted average quoted was for the period, when they started with around 104m and issues a new 91m. So the average they use of 149m will be 195m from now on.

Ergo their profits will be divided by 195m in future to get EPS, not 149m as for the half year. A significant impact.

Results look decent to me. Statement cautiously optimistic but I think they might be hoping for a 'trading ahead' TU in a few months time.

"We are in discussions with several governments regarding the roll-out of tobacco and drinks tax stamp schemes and in early discussion regarding COVID-19 immunity certification schemes. We continue to invest in software capabilities, service provision and R&D focused on IP generation and are exploring blockchain technologies"

The Turnaround Plan is certainly yielding results.Looks as though the company is on a single PE which is far too low for a business with a rapidly growing Authentication division....
