17/6/2004 10:45 | gunner: As Danka run a European operation from a central warehouse, what would be the benefit of hiving off just one slice (ie UK) which I believe in the past has been the most viable operation. | ![]() bertybassett
15/6/2004 16:02 | gunner: questions as follows: 1. What is the mood like in Danka just now - buoyant, concerned, desperate etc..? 2. You mention that you think UK could be 1st sold - why? 3. Have new systems properly bedded in? 4. How confident do you feel that they are heading in the right direction? | ![]() lowtrawler

15/6/2004 07:41 | hi guys, any thing you need to know about the company post and ill answer later (i work for them) i think the uk division will be the next sale not canada. ps bought in at 7.25p! | gunnergonk
14/6/2004 17:59 | US equivalent mid-price is currently at 64.7p. If the MM's are playing ball, we should have a 63.25 - 66.25 spread tomorrow. | ![]() lowtrawler
05/6/2004 11:33 | Yes excellent week, for a change. Zedder as you say, price should be up monday morning. I make mid-price 60.5p, so if the MM are playing ball we could 59p - 62p. Has anybody got any idea about the 6 purchases of circa 30k shares going through on the US volume chart above? Appear almost bot like. | mjele1
05/6/2004 11:16 | Yes. excellent week, those that have been patient are finally being rewarded. I reckon still a way to go, and if they sell their Canadian division as rumoured, that should make the company look a pretty rosy investment. Good time to top up again. | johnymac
04/6/2004 21:13 | The end of a good week for DANKY in the US. Closed at $4.45 having touched $4.50. With 1 DANKY ADR = 4 DNK, and an exchange rate of $1.841, we should hopefully open on Monday at 58p/61p. Since the UK MMs have been lagging a bit recently, might only be 57p/60p. I'll settle for that though after my top-up at 48p on results day! | ![]() zedder
02/6/2004 22:12 | Yes good close price of $4.29. This equates to nearly 58.5p mid price using a conversion rate of $1.835. Like the link to archipelago and will review this tomorrow | mjele1
02/6/2004 21:42 | Closed at $4.29, with an intra-day high of $4.31. More to come I believe. | ![]() zedder
02/6/2004 13:57 | Interesting set-up for trading today in the US. In the past couple of weeks, the sell side has been stacked with 300 or 500 share blocks starting at the previous close and going every 1c or 2. Today there is a block of 500 at 4.18 but then nothing until a block of 300 at 4.28. It might well change before the actual open, but maybe the MMs are prepared to let the price ease up to $4.30 today before they try to control it. To see what I'm talking about, go to the following site: Hit "the Book" button in the top right, select the Java or HTML version and then enter DANKY. I think this will go up through $4.30 today and maybe even $4.40. | ![]() zedder
02/6/2004 08:15 | Would say the opening spread is undercooked by about 2p today. Based on closing price across pond of $4.18, spread should be 56 to 58. Made a small top-up Matt | mjele1
01/6/2004 20:37 | Zedder Yes, moving up nicely.....now at $4.18, up 4%. Should see a nice move up tomorrow in Uk, unless dollar weakens significantly. Matt | mjele1
01/6/2004 19:31 | Things are warming up again stateside: Up through $4.10 and good volume. Maybe Goldman Sachs are not the only ones accumulating ahead of a probable re-rating: | ![]() zedder
27/5/2004 11:23 | From Investors Chronicle latest edition: ------------------ 28 May 2004 DANKA BUSINESS SYSTEMS (DNK) Not much has gone right for Danka for some years now. Ever since the disastrous acquisition of Eastman Kodak eight years ago, the photocopier company has been beset by difficulties. Lawsuits from disgruntled shareholders, constant restructuring and technological change have all conspired to make life troublesome for the company. Still, it does now finally seem as if Danka's efforts to get itself in order are paying off. Hundreds of jobs are to go, and this should save some $56m a year by 2006. Also, many of its customers have now embraced digital technology. More than half of the Danka photocopiers used by its customers are digital, and this proportion is expected to increase fairly rapidly in the near future. This should put an end to the decline in revenues from servicing equipment. Within the next year, the company will also have the chance to lower the high cost of its borrowings. House broker evolution Evolution Beeson Gregory expects the loss per share to fall from 7.3p to 2p this year. IC View: Danka's earnings per share are forecast to remain negative for at least another year after this one. Based on sales, the company does not look expensively valued. However, for the moment, the shares are fairly priced. | nwmadden
19/5/2004 15:41 | We will get to 60p swiftly! | sharareh
19/5/2004 15:37 | Up through $3.72 in the US. I love it when a plan comes together. Now need to decide if my early 5000 share buy is a day trade or do I raid the piggy bank! | ![]() zedder
19/5/2004 15:26 | conference call positive apart from UK and Canada revenues. Should see this tick upwards short term. | easytimes
19/5/2004 14:42 | I reckon fill your boots at 40p, bought mine nearly 6 months ago at 47p. Not sure when there will be a bounce as I belieive there will be a few concerns in the market after looking at the detail of their results announcement. The aftermath of the conference call could go either way. | easytimes |
