newstarter,
talking about omh you gave your money to fund their research similar like pro. before the product ready in the market, the share price will be volatile. I will buy when they start making profit because I hate shocking "new equity" like Pro did two weeks ago. imo, dyor, etc.

AGT is moving north slowly, I hope DNK will do better today.

Below is my posting on AGT thread:
The sale of Harry Potter science fiction books are as follow
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone: 885,203
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: 819,371
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: 896,897
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: 948,425

Only one movie & game has been created so the rest of three could get almost the same sales performance if we refer to the sales performance of books above. I am sure one game that had been created by AGT will make at least 10p royalty per share we hold. This is income for shareholders from Harry Potter games only.

The total royalty from other AGT games could be around 30p-50p per share per year, this is for 10 games. I take conservative valuation.

So, the question is only whether the company can pay the overhead cost & depreciation from advances they get from publisher. If the answer is possible (like what has been predicted by the house broker) then we should see AGT becomes very profitable company in the current booming era of next generation games.

Please do not forget that the CEO has created commercial games since he was teenager & deserves to get OBE for his achievement. I want to see him becomes "another Bill Gates in gaming software".

Time to get a decent share back to the top of the list.

How many of your shares have made a 20% gain in less than a week. Even so, it has still not exceeded a previous high from early Feb this year.

Obviously DYOR before considering buying. The Yahoo Finance board has lots of good stuff and iii is not bad.

This share has good momentum though and appears not to be being plauged by shorters at the moment. Talking of shorters, the US share (DANKY) has short interest of over 1M shares outstanding. They have got to be bought back at some point and the US price very much drives the UK price. Shorters covering might even be the reason for the rise over the last week.

smoketrader, below is my research on AGT.

Please everyone, no recommendation to switch from DNK to AGT because both could fly together. IMO, DYOR, etc. :-))

On 18 Feb 2002, Beeson Gregory has upgraded his forecasts for the year to July 2002: sales of £17.6m, pre-tax profits of £5.6.

Today it is reported half-year revenue of £9.3M and profit of £4M, so that full year revenue & profit expectation will be beaten without any doubt. Remember that the income from royalties of £5.4M includes only the first six weeks of Harry Potter sales. Given that it held the top spot in the charts for a further six weeks and still holds a top ten position, Argonaut is sure to receive a few more millions before the year-end (July 2002). The royalties per game of Harry Potter is not small because at about £29 Harry Potter games retails, Electronics Arts pockets £15 and Argonaut is thought to get royalties of between 75p and £2.25. So, I can still expect pre-tax profit for full year around £7M (at PE of 10, the share worth 74p).

Argonaut is expected to have cash of about £18m at the year-end, so dividend could be given to shareholders this year (final year report is due October 2002).

The question on everyone's lips was whether Argonaut could have another Harry Potter? Yes, the second series should come this year & the company had secured the contract for the game.

The next year (2003) forecast is to have a profit of £5.1m on sales of £19.7m, which does not include any royalty revenues. It is based purely on advances. That is 2.5 times higher than current year advances because the company will charge higher for the cost of development of next generation games than those for the previous generation titles in line with the effort to create additional complexity and content required for these larger games. Remember that Xbox game will retails at £45 per game.

So, we can imagine when Harry Potter 2 can hit the market again & generate royalty (although with less record of sales), the profit of £10M mark for next year should be achieved easily. IMO.
