13/12/2003 09:43 | 'The restructuring plan is expected to result in total annual savings of approximately $40 to $45 Million which exceeds the company's previous estimate of $30 million.' That is an incredible saving. in anyone's book, looking good going forward for the dnk share price anyway. | johnymac

12/12/2003 22:56 | Thought I'd blow the dust off a previous post of mine in reply to 1 by forfaiter: forfaiter - 6 Aug'03 - 13:18 - 11509 of 11670 Comparing the results to q1 of last year is slightly misleading as it was their best and only good quarter last year...the headline figures are only slightly worse than q4 which was also loss making on the pre tax level . The one of expense for retiring the debt ...shld have little bearing....as the emphasis shld be on the interest savings going forward... The key will be oracle and whether it is completed by the q2 results .....if it is and the managements hype of considerable cost saving rings true.......then there is still everything to play for... zedder - 6 Aug'03 - 13:33 - 11510 of 11670 edit True FF. However, things would have been far worse this Qtr without the +ve impact due to currency ($ went from about 1.40 to 1.65 to the pound). I still believe that this will drift to $2.50 or below in the US during the next couple of months which is why I bailed just after the results were released yesterday. May consider putting some back in the price goes below 40p, although I will check an eye on the exchange rate in case it falls back below 1.50 as that could add more pain to the next couple of quarters. As you can see, just after the last results I was worried that if the $ strengthened again, it would result in a -ve impact due to currency. In fact, the $ has weakened even further, which I was certainly not expecting. As FF said, if the managements hype of significant cost savings rings true, there is still everything to play for. Today we have had some guidance as to what level of savings they expect to make. Despite some advertised one-off costs over the next couple of quarters, these savings plus some further +ve impact due to currency should see DANKA post some impressive earnings (assuming turnover has now stabilised) towards the end of next year. Since the NASDAQ seems to think about 6 months ahead in terms of company share prices, we could see a significant improvement in share price over the next 6 months. I did buy twice at 40p and below, but sold out fairly quickly both times at pretty much even as I needed the money elsewhere, eg RDN :) I got back in again in early Nov and on 1st Dec (going with my posted gut-feel that a sharp rally was imminent). Average is 45p and I'm happy this should make me 50%+ in the next year. That's assuming I can let it run, which is unusual for me! | ![]() zedder
12/12/2003 21:08 | Last trade was at $3.73 in the US. The days high was $3.79, there was good volume of 1.76m and strong buying all the way to the close. At an exchange rate of $1.74 am hoping UK MMs will open at 51p/54p on Monday. I will be amazed if the US does not get it above $4 early next week. That should see us at 55p/58p. I'm actually hopeful that it can break back up through 60p again. | ![]() zedder
12/12/2003 19:36 | zedder - 1 Dec'03 - 13:43 - 11661 of 11668 edit Expecting a blue day today in the US. Hopefully one of those 10%+ days that have happened in the past after an initial slow upswing. Looks like I was a bit early with my expectaction of a sharp upswing. However, it's blown up through $3.50 in the US today. From previous experience of this share, if it can close above $3.50, I would not be surprised if it carries on up through $4 early next week. | ![]() zedder
11/12/2003 20:06 | When cost cuts and redundancy take place, Danka, or indeed any company, becomes more attractive to an investor. Its one of these cruel twists of life for the angry and bitter employees, of Dnk or any company that is going thru this bitter stage of leaner and sharper growth that is being employed, be many. Watch and you will see. | johnymac
11/12/2003 18:45 | well the american accounts are out and they were bad! i mean realy bad ! uk results usualy are better but we send all our profit to the states and if theirs were bad i dont think we helped much, keep watching the news for the redundancys and cost savings as it may push the price higher but dont stay in it for too long at a time your money is best invested elsewhere!. im glad ive helped some one not too lose money! i just wish some one would help me make some! | gunnergonk

26/11/2003 09:08 | Looks like the momentum is building. There should be a scheduled analysts call in the next couple of weeks to update on cost cutting strategy. 24/11/2003 20:58 | Looking at the chart for Danka US (DANKY) I think we should see a steady rise and the downside is far less now. | saturn5
24/11/2003 13:04 | I'm almost convinced enough to invest. Can you guys give me a plus and a minus analysis of whether I should put my money into this. All views appreciated. | ![]() lowtrawler
17/11/2003 22:33 | Just listened to the conference call webcast on the danka website. Am now feeling much more positive. It does look like they are heading in the correct direction, with cost cutting, by consolodating/sellin Also the one off 20.6 million debt refinancing payment seems to have dislodged the interim figures, showing a loss. They are now have more than 50% of the company moved from analogue systems to digital and should be much more by the end of this quarter. It is looking like a good turnaround story. | johnymac
06/11/2003 23:57 | Private friend in US thinks Danky will be 30% up by Christmas | saturn5
06/11/2003 16:01 | hey blockbuy I have accumulated danka. I now hold 100,000 @ 42p. I believe theyve turned the corder. Love the cash flow... in 3 months they increased their cash pile by $38m. Plus oracle out of the way, $30m worth of savings to come (more redundancies). If you listened into the cc you would be impressed. I believe danka/danky will be re-rated now. Further I believe they are now in their strong quarter. | phook inell
