Danka Business Systems PLC, a leading independent global supplier of office
imaging systems and services, today announced that it has begun the final stage
of Phase I of its Oracle 11i ERP system rollout in the U.S. As at the end of the
Company's first fiscal quarter to 30 June 2003, about 50% of its U.S. business
had been converted to the new system and by the end of the second quarter to 30
September 2003, approximately 73% of its U.S. business had been converted. This
final stage will convert the remainder of the U.S. business to the new system.

"The Company began the final stage of its rollout on 27 September," said Gene
Hatcher, Danka's Chief Information Officer. "This project has been very
expensive, time consuming and challenging; nevertheless, as we announced
earlier, we expect to complete Phase I of our initial rollout across our U.S.
business this fall."

Danka's U.S. President and Chief Operating Officer, Todd Mavis added, "With the
end of our Phase I Oracle implementation in sight, we will now be focused on
realising the operational and customer service benefits of the system,
leveraging our investment, and reducing our costs. The savings will come from
reduced spending related to implementation of the system and reductions in
expenditures related to maintaining multiple, disparate, outdated legacy
IT systems and processes, which have been very resource and labor intensive.
We are now looking at our entire U.S. organisation in the context of our
new operating systems and processes, and expect headcount reductions over
the next two quarters."

The Oracle ERP implementation represents the most significant part of the
Company's reengineering project, called Vision 21, which was launched in Fiscal
Year 2002 as part of the company's objective to deliver a world class customer
experience.

Should add a penny or two to the shareprice.

News today is that Kodak can see the red light as far as photographic film is concerned and are likely to move to digital processing. They could also diversify into photocopying and go for Danka. Now will be the time for Kodak to buy Danka.

afternoon all....chart shows 1* support 33.5 in the short term, but the next one of note is the med term support at 26p.....

I see DNK is bouncing off the top line of the falling channel line.......

ff, I agree, they need to start producing the right results soon......

My guess is that possible sector consolidation is keeping this stock up....another quarter of negative cash flow will decimate the share price...very risky..

Had my eye off the DNK ball for quite a time. Could someone bring me up to date what's happening and their best guess how the short and long term price is likely to move. Why is it seemingly in decline and what, if anything, are the key influencing factors that might/should bring it back?

Thanks
Jayno

Hi Cinoib

I believe from the last reported figures they said that there will be a $20m hit, because they did not include it in the previous quarter (Q1). Therefore I'd be a bit wary. Best of luck

Currently $2.62/66 across the pond

Hi S,P,talk about rats from a sinking ship, even the mm's have given up marked it down this morn when it did'n't drop any after we closed. Closed stateside at $2.70=42p not 40p as they have it. Hope next 1/4 figures are a bit better as I don't like takeing big hits especially when everything else is going so well.

Hi Cinoib

Good open for you this morning. I missed it and decided to wait to see what the Setics are going to do. The Kodak bb has no rumour on it, but Kodak lost 50c last Friday because they want to raise $2billion to play with.

Looking across the pond as I post, I'm surprised there are no pre market trades. Current realtime prices $2.84/2.95
