28/1/2003 13:04 | LONDON (AFX) - Xerox Corp swung into profit in the fourth quarter with EPS of 1 cent compared with a loss of 19 cents a year earlier and well ahead of the consensus estimate of a loss of 11 cents per share. The fourth-quarter earnings of 1 cent per share included restructuring charges of 34 cents per share and a one-time tax benefit of 11 cents per share related to the completion of a tax audit, the company said. Excluding restructuring and the tax gain, the fourth-quarter EPS was 24 cents. Total revenue for the fourth quarter was 4.25 bln usd, a year-over-year decline of 3 pct, the company said, adding that net profit was 19 mln usd compared with a loss of 140 mln usd earlier. For the fourth-quarter, gross margins were 43.9 pct, a year-over-year increase of 2.5 pct points, while selling administrative and general costs decreased 49 mln usd or 4 pct from fourth quarter 2001. Commenting on the first quarter of 2003, Anne M. Mulcahy, Xerox chairman and chief executive officer said, "We expect that our expanded product, solutions and services portfolio will continue to drive modest improvement in year-over-year equipment sale trends". "The flow through from our accelerated cost reductions in the fourth quarter will further strengthen our bottom line", she added. newsdesk@afxnews.com | webley
27/1/2003 21:19 | SP, not commenting to yourself. I'm lurking... :o) Sadly I have nothing I can add to the discussion, but that doesn't stop me appreciating your posts. Keep up the good work. DS | dsmith626
27/1/2003 21:16 | Although I feel I'm posting to myself, here goes my comments to me!!! Good close on the Nas up 10c on reasonable volume - The Nas was hammered & DANKY went up - what strength :o) IMHO we'll build till results then eith a major leap up or a slight pull back. Based on the news-flow I think North bound is the direction | serious punter
27/1/2003 17:20 | I'd appreciate comments from anyone who has L2 realtime across the pond. Reason is that from the MM antics/pricing,there sems a keeness to push DANKY north. An illustration is that several times a wadge of profit taking has dragged the price down to $5.01/03, then suddenly gaps up to $5.08/10 (with no trades at all)and in go the buyers again, then it happens all over again - the time frame is but a few minutes. Comments appreciated | serious punter
27/1/2003 16:49 | SP Hi how are you, you seem a little lonely over here!! I do check in most days to see you doing a grand job, keeping us well informed. I was thinking about getting in before the results, however I am currently enjoying the rise and profits over at omh, so I will just have to see how that goes as omh could quite possibly keep rising until Fridays results...and then it may fly!!!.............. Anyway best wishes and to you too bb! *:0} | ambabe
27/1/2003 16:47 | SP, thanks for that. | dsmith626
27/1/2003 16:11 | For anyone interested DANKY has just smashed $5 now trading $5.03/05 and moving up Up 16c on the day so far:0) | serious punter
27/1/2003 15:54 | Afternoon All Realtime L2 across pond as I post DANKY $4:95/99 up 7c. today's high $4.99 Vol 103,500. Has already tested $5 again, the main push so far has been positive, despite the market. | serious punter
24/1/2003 17:34 | I think you are right share price - as I've said previously, the price is being held but the cross trades could well signify it's time to move. I'm not sure we'll gap on Monday but I definitely expect the price to gap above the 86p resistance level by end of play Wednesday. | fotheringham
24/1/2003 16:41 | NAS Down 33pts but DANKY UP Realtime L2 across pond as I post DANKY $5.10/13 Vol good 309k. Big buys going through looking good. We'll gap up on Monday IMHO. With big buys going through and >50% institutional interest, it make you wonder whether the cats out of the bag on the results! | serious punter
24/1/2003 15:07 | DS & BB Realtime L2 across pond as I post DANKY $5.04/08 Vol good 115k. I think we'll see a significant shift up today over there - NAS dow 24pts. BB - Re : Results - I sincerely believe that will be above expectations - Lang & the team seem to be very focused and improving on all fronts. IKNs figures were acceptable, but DANKY/DNK have appeared to more agreesive towards their debt reduction. XRX are in a mess. | serious punter
24/1/2003 11:00 | Morning share price ....looking forward to the results??? What are you/market expecting figure wise? | blockbuy
24/1/2003 10:59 | SP, price seems to be stuck over here though. 4p spread today, that's ridiculous. Guess the weakness of the dollar ain't helping much either.... | dsmith626
24/1/2003 07:44 | Mornin All DANKY did IMHO brilliantly across the pond last night. Sells outweighed buys 4:1, and it ended up again above $5. Positive candidate (23 Jan 2003) [Auto] Help Has risen 902% since the bottom on 21 Sep 2001 at 0.50. Has broken the floor of the rising trend, which indicates a weaker initial rising rate. Positive volume balance, i.e. high volume in days of rising prices and low volume in days of falling prices, strengthens the stock in the short term. Support and resistance: The stock has marginally broken up through the resistance at 4.90 . An established break predicts a further rise. High risk Today should be quite bullish IMHO. Two 100k trades at the close yesterday along with other large trades during the week leads me to believe someone is stake building. 1 million bought this week alone. | serious punter
23/1/2003 16:13 | Whoever nicked that 25k @ 79p be aware I'm jealous - you beat me to it. Update realtime across the pond $5.00/03 vol 275200 -looking very promising | serious punter
