09/1/2003 07:52 | Mornin All I seem to be a lone poster recently. Last nights' performance on the Nas was IMHO good news again. A new floor being established at $4.70. I sincerely believe we will see a push this week to $5. There was sustained selling last night, but DANKY refused to be pushed lower. After hours trades (although few) were @ $4.75. Also once again it touched $4.80, perhaps this will be tested again today. Top up time!! Happy trading All:0) | serious punter
08/1/2003 07:52 | Morning All Good consolidating performance across the pond last night only 5c down, perhaps a springboard to $5 Happy trading | serious punter

07/1/2003 08:00 | panagos ..........You only appear when danka boils up...LOL!! ;-) Pure co-incidence, I've been cruising for 2 weeks. As I've posted b4, I hold a chunk of DNK and trade chunks. Looking at L2 in US IMHO it will bust through $4.80 this afternoon and remain there, hopefully and realisticly settling at $4.90 ish. Understandably, there was considerable profit taking yesterday across the pond, but the MMs gave the impression that there was no way DANKY was going anywhere but north. | serious punter

06/1/2003 09:20 | Happy New Yr all. Front Page news Guys. Now either there's no better news out there today or this is really worth printing. ;-) www.bloomberg.co.uk Top News 01/06 08:57 Danka, Top U.K. Stock in 2002, Seeks to Lift Sales (Update1) By Claire Shoesmith London, Jan. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Danka Business Systems Plc, the distributor of photocopiers and fax machines whose ability to cut debt and costs helped make it the U.K.'s best-performing stock in 2002, must now focus on boosting sales, analysts said. The shares surged to 70.25 pence from 15.75p at the start of the year, topping the FTSE All-Share Index, which fell by a quarter, meaning a purchase of 100 shares for 157.5 pounds ($251.7) would have produced a profit of 545 pounds. Danka had wracked up $1.2 billion in debt by December 1998 after the purchase of Eastman Kodak Co.'s unprofitable photocopier sales and service unit. The company cut its workforce by half to 10,870, sold properties and reduced debt by 80 percent in four years. ``It's a very good turnaround story,'' said Hector Forsythe, an analyst at Evolution Beeson Gregory, who rates the stock ``market outperform.'' ``It's a company that's really pulled itself together. There's potential to create a lot of value. The key thing they have to do now is to generate more revenue.'' Like rival Xerox Corp., which cut 1,600 jobs, it returned to profit after being hurt by a global drop in technology spending. Danka's total debt stood at $233 million at Sept. 30. ``It's the debt reduction that people have been looking at,'' Chief Financial Officer Mark Wolfinger said in an interview. ``It's been our focus and we've stuck by it.'' The London and St. Petersburg, Florida-based company, which makes 55 percent of sales in the U.S., in October said first-half profit more than doubled to 2.7 million pounds from a year earlier after it cut costs. Net debt fell by 29 percent in the half. Lower Prices Revenue, which fell 16 percent in the six months ended Sept. 30, has declined over the past five years as competition for copier servicing increases and rivals seek to lower prices. Danka is suffering as companies upgrade analog equipment to multifunction digital machines that can carry out printing, scanning and copying, said Sanjay Sood, senior vice president. Wolfinger said Danka aims to overcome this by developing a service that provides maintenance to all office equipment; creating software to help companies to economize on printing; and helping customers understand what they are spending on printing. ``Our focus has been debt reduction and cost control,'' he said. `` Now we're looking to grow the company again.'' Impressive as are the recent gains, the stock is still down from a high of 848p in May 1996. And it's now trading at 45 times earnings, compared with a European industry average of 23. The shares fell a quarter of a penny, or 0.4 percent, to 71.75p at 8:55 a.m. in London | blockbuy
