Thanks, have just broused on their on-line shop, very user friendly, have also visited hamleys a few times, often quite packed and with christmas period approaching it looks good.......I will try to call them "selfridges for toys" as they possibly target the well-off i would expect the frofit margins to be quite healthy.

Good luck for Monday

Panagos, please focus on the profit & dividend.
Last year: gross profit up from £5.7M from £4.7M.
The pre tax profit last year was £3.7m & dividend 7.3p.

For the current year analysts are forecasting a pretax profit of around £5.7M (so gross profit is expected around £8M?) with dividend around 10p.

The liabilities should be paid easily from the net profit because it's less than 2 years of pre tax profit. IMHO.

The toys shops are growing.

Actually ADVFN quotes quick assets of 2.5m for hamleys as at yesterday

oaks, just checked the fundumental summary of HYL...and last figures reported 9.13m of net current liabilities......where they used to have on average net current assets of circa. 2m in the previous 4 years. Isn't it a bit risky?

Hi there,
Some results on Monday are AZL & HYL.
I put my bet on HYL (Hamleys PLC), few trading update were very optimistic for the result & growth. The chart looks pretty good & I wish HYL will break through £1.75 so can complete the W formation & record new high. Expected profit 10-20% (with or without dividend). IMHO & please DYOR.

Price of HYP at £1.63 looks pretty high but the adjusted earnings per share from core activities was 18.1p last year. I expect better result & outlook as the growth of the Hamleys brand businesses and the Bear Factory, both domestically and internationally, are expected higher. Please don't buy if not sure.

"Hoping more retracement on Danka " ??

why are you "hoping" for more tracement ? is it because you want to buy more at a lower price ?

phook, are you familiar with the trading pattern, chart, fundamental, market, sentiment, news flow, etc.? those are the main reason.

If you ask me that I want to buy Danka then I will say yes if the price is right.

Morning all,
VLX is doing very well today. £1 - £1.20 is still on target. Hoping more retracement on Danka but as mentioned by maxbubble the fed cut is encouraging.

i simply enter a trade and the market maker will provide me a quote - and this will give me an idea what the 'real' spread is.

by the way who is your broker ?

phooks, have you got any chance to see the price within spread deals using a link through your stockbroker? I do have.

pistonbroke1, the buyers are mad if they really try to push the price to break $3+.

IMHO, danky hit $2.80-ish twice already.

phook, on your screen was 75p - 90p but I could sell at 79.50p for 25K or buy at 87p for 5K easily.

please find better stockbroker mate. no problem to pay £5 more every trade but you will profit £100+ more every single trade from having better bid/offer price.

On your screen the bid is 75p, my broker can find a bid at 79.75p. That means 4.75p * 15K = almost £750. By paying £5 more I can get additional profit to buy return ticket to Thailand or LA or Australia plus some bottles of wine. :-)

sp, three directors of volex bought 10K shares each. That was very good news.

based on experience of AGT, price went up over 35% when several directors bought at 19p-ish (after the result few weeks ago).

based on experience of Danky, price went up almost 100% after several directors bought at $2-$3 (after Q3 result last January).

So, my target of £1 - £1.20 for Volex could still be OK. Wish the market will help.

nice large trade there at the end. US holding well at or around the 2.70 mark.

Danky's debt, is it fixed rate or would an interest rate help?
