Early trading in US seems good, $2.46 :-)

......that the problems are just down to Canada.....all through the recovery lang has been justifying the revenue decline by using the argument of increased margins......now you have revenue decline and decreasing margins.....also he side stepped the issue by comparing year on year quarters instead of sequential.....all starting to look very fragile IMHO

Re your post 10034

I'd seriously look into ARM over the weekend.

Nice gap up on Monday, DANKY closing $2.35=39p ish. I just wish that some of the comments in the CC could have been woven into the results announcement - that IMHO would of put a totally new and very positive spin on the situation.

will look out for the press. I dont hold much credence to those buy/sell signals, can be very deceptive and wholey false on some occasions. I have a trader friend in the US (works for GE Capital).... he is a senior trader - he advised me to ignore those signals as 99% of the time they mean nothing or dont have much bearing on the price.

After listening to the conference call, even hearing some comments from analysts (who were quite impressed and satisfied with the details provided) I feel Danka are still on track and the hickups are just that, hickups on the way to eventual full scale recovery completion.

I like the following post submitted on yahoo :

Free cash flow, debt reduction, higher margins, Multi-vendor services and professional services. A year and a half ago, none of the above existed.

Market value is almost equal to one times cash flow. Last time I checked, that was an "undervalued" indicator.

Look back to when DANKA was trading at $14 per sahre and compare company to TODAY. No comparison, none. This ship is sailing in the right direction.

Yes it has held well, however I'd wait for the weekend press then make a further judgement call. looking above there are still lots of sell signals.

Danky showing a strong performance on Nasdaq. Was expecting a big fall with new sellers capitulating after going through the results. I might start to accumulate on monday, first thing.

Thanx Phook - Very interesting and even more encouraging having listened to CC. I'll get some more on Monday even if there's a gap up.

good luck i believe you will be ok on a 6 to 12 month view. I'm still waiting to get in.

By the way, i would really advise you listening into the conference call to get a good idea what is happening at danka. Too many are jumping to conclusions about danka when they dont have the proper facts. A LOT of info was provided in the CC that was not in the results. They are doing things right and from the CC I get the feeling they'll show this in Q3 and Q4. By the way there a few analysts asking questions as well for the first time.

Calls to US are very cheap (3p / minute) so it will cost you around £3-00.

for the CC tel number is : 0017066459291
and then enter conference ID number 6361276

A few buys going through now (some of mine :0))- 35p=$2.10 if I've got the maths right.

Currently $2.24/2.30 L2 across the pond

maxbubble,
from what I can remember, the upgrade will now cost between $35-40m dollars as against an original $20m.
Not Danka's fault, the guy on the CC was pretty miffed with the suppliers. They have fixed 50 bugs in the last few weeks and 50 remain.

Will be rolled out by Spring 2003 as against original Autumn 2002.

And the reason for the big upgrade? The guy said a few years ago before Danka's financial problems they had made 100 acquisitions posing problems with hardware realignment. Also the Kodak purchase which doubled Danka was a problem as Kodak had very poor IT systems.

I think that everything will be sorted out by the end of the spring in time for the new financial year meaning next year's results should go ballistic!

Oh, and Canada they put down to the management - I was happy with the explanation and they indicated that they problems were easy to solve (they had the same sort of problems in the US). They indicated that Canada is already being turned around...

All in all, longs need to look ahead to next year when 7p EPS is forecast.

ff i agree with a couple of points

did you listen to the cc ref service revenues?

maxbubble

Sorry Max I don´t.....the falling margins...ebitda...shareholder equity....cash in the bank.....and of course revenues....combined with the failed refi...increased costs of Oracle....the bonds due in April 2004.....the list is lengthy...

Also why is danka struggling so much more than the competition even though it has lowered its debt.....something major is not right....

My guess is the decline in service revenues....still more to come ..imho...and increased competiton from Canon DIRECT and IKN......

anyone confirm from memory of the cc was there a figure for upgrading systems going forward or has all the costs been attributed to Q2??

FF apart from the above problem and canada which should be a one off - together with the big increase in hardware sales and quite a considerable conversion over to digital (slow in USA) - you have to aggree this baby is looking good in 12 months time.
