19/4/2004 16:55 | anybody any veiws out there regarding [dcg] | spcecks
09/4/2004 09:29 | josephrobert agree only bought as a trading buy, not a longterm hold. | spcecks
09/4/2004 04:48 | specks, I'll join you if the price stays above 402p for a day or two. But it only looks good for a max. of 30pts. | josephrobert
07/4/2004 10:58 | bought in this morning as i think its oversold and due a bounce. | spcecks
02/4/2004 17:23 | I blame that penguin. My spread to make profit on a suspected bounce isn't doing very well yet... | martinc
02/4/2004 15:02 | More Cheese realisations Grommitt? | marksp
01/4/2004 13:50 | It's got to be a sell when a company states, '...we achieved firmer cheese realisations....'. Why did you stop spread betting jeff24? | josephrobert
31/3/2004 20:37 | Indeed.. tempted to make a bet on a bounce.. might be good for a few points | martinc
31/3/2004 19:02 | I would not have thought it was nothing too unusual I see it happening all the time. especially when I used to spread bet. | jeff24
31/3/2004 19:01 | Could be that somebody has taken a position in it and someone else is hedging it to cover the potential payout and as a result the sotck price is warping a little. | jeff24
31/3/2004 18:59 | somebody might be just marking it down. could be a number of reasons really. | jeff24
31/3/2004 18:14 | Strange trading according to advfn twice as many buys than sells large spread, and the price drops 14% on what appears to be a reasonable trading statement | gnik
31/3/2004 11:42 | I'm a bit confused too. Apart from the cheese situation, most of the update suggests that thigns are going well, although it's a mature business, where "going well" can mean quite low growth. So how much will the cheese problem effect the results? The update gives no figures on the cheese thign, so it's impossiblwe to make any judgement. The overall tone doesn't imply that overall profits are going to drop significantly as a result. I can't help thinking that it doesn't look bad enough to warrant a 12% drop, so I'll continue holding, and perhaps sell on a bounce, as I'm bored with these shares anyway. I can't help giggling when reading serious financial news about cheese. I think I've watched too many Wallace & Grommit videos. | martinc
31/3/2004 11:09 | As a long tern DCG holder I cannot make much sense of the trading 'update' today. Cheese sales are...down/flat/at higher prices/showing good growth H2 is an improvement on H1 but H1 seems to have been bad .looks like a history re-write. The November outlook from Mr hall didn't seem to have the same degree of gloom //////////////////// Outlook On the back of a strong performance by our portfolio of brands we have made an encouraging start to the year with first half results in line with market expectations. We expect performance for the full year, including the benefit of St Ivel Spreads, to show continuing good progress. J. W. D. Hall, Chief Executive 11 November 2003 //////////////////// "Dairy Crest expects overall performance for the full year to show good progress over 2002/03" Expects increased competition and cannot give guidance on raw material prices The key comment "Chief Executive Drummond Hall said: "The year just ending has been satisfactory for Dairy Crest with good progress in key areas. We believe that with strong brands and a well invested manufacturing base Dairy Crest is well placed to face the challenges of the future." These platitudes are completely out of place given the confused statement - If Mr DH doesn't think we deserve to know what is going on he should just say so - I can't see any points of reference between the statement and his 'contribution' ...Mr DH sold 60k shares straight after the Novemebr results - maybe deeds are more important than words Mr Hall sold 60K shares in November. | marksp
13/11/2003 13:00 | So Drummond Hall (CEO) decides its time to dump 60,000 on the same day his FD buys 3000...don't they talk then? So whats the message here....this is as good as it gets, so lets take the money and run boys!!! | dean_hammersley
30/9/2003 18:11 | Be very careful going long of this stock. Dairy farmers are to start picketing DC dairies from tonight. They are a determined bunch as their livelihood depends on farmgate milk prices that are well below break even. If prices rise it won't bode too well for DC nor will disrupted dairies. Lose - lose situation for DC. | jimmythecow
23/9/2003 15:55 | Looks like a seller has been cleared out. Hopefully it will resume the upward trend now. | hyden
23/9/2003 15:49 | Impressive performance today. I wonder why? | the other kevin
11/7/2003 13:06 | So ABN Amro = "portent of doom"? Oh well, I'm still optimistic. | dougross
05/7/2003 10:06 | The following is from Telegraph Broker's Tips today: Dairy Crest Buy at 453p, suggests ABN Amro (440p this week). Over the past five years, the dairy products group has performed impressively. Its value-added brands have recorded strong volume increases and the group now has a strong presence in each segment of the UK dairy market. Though the past year has been challenging, it now hopes to put this behind it. Its brands are expected to continue to perform well. The shares now trade on around nine times forward earnings, while still offering a well-covered dividend. | dougross
30/6/2003 19:49 | Please can someone clarify Takeover rumours and where they might come from-good sound company. The old story of selling on a high. | repooh
