poiuyt (krash & thecat)- 'fed up of bottom fishing'? Yep, it can get a bit crowded at the bottom. I've kind of tired of trading fsh, moni, thus, och, omh etc, etc.. especially as they can cause quite a 'distraction' throughout the day. I've gotten to a stage now where I'm much happier to check up once a week rather than hourly (more like every 5 mins sometimes). Therefore, this by necessity dictates investing 'long term' in companies such as DCG.

To be quite blunt, any cash I've 'invested' over the past year day-trading would have been better placed on long term, cash positive co's such as mentioned above. I would now be enjoying a more relaxed return on my capital :) As it is, I did of course have positions on moni and ctm this week and did quite well. Of late, this has not always been the norm :(.

Anyway - have a good bank holiday all and I'll keep you posted on anything of interest that comes out of my research (sorry to use this thread as a kind of shareholders 'couch').

Cheers

jimi

BTW take a look at Hornby(HRN), not sure if it's going to run out of steam but the past 18 months has been pretty impressive.

Sorry jimibit/krash & thecat, been away for a couple of days. I also will look at KIE,BWY and ANGL over the weekend. I'm fed up of bottom fishing, and I'm only going in on strong recognisable uptrends from now on.

krash/thecat - thanks for the info. It's a whole different game moving from intraday trading to taking a longer (more responsible:)) view on the market. I plan (hope) to generate about 50-60% gain over the course of 12-18 months and will look very carefully at any sugestions that you offer.

BWY does look like it could offer up a glowing performance, as does KIE. I'll do some research over the next few weeks.

Thanks again (I'll be back!)

jimibt,
Sorry to interrupt your conversation with poiuyt, but why don't you take a look at BWY? You may like it. " Chart Breakout " experts, who recommended DCG back about 4 months ago, have more recently suggested BWY may go up to £11.5 ( now 531 p ).

poiuyt - Ignoring post #1 :). Over the past 2 years, this has had a fantastic growth rate. Any signs that this will continue or are we reaching a plateau??

I'm looking to spread about 75k over a range of longer term options (I've had enough of day trading!! so looking at 12-18 months) and this one went off the scale on my radar. Do you have any insights into other good solid (but above average) longer term plays??

Cheers

jimi

David Linton on Bloomberg Money Wednesday evening was extolling the virtues of the Food Producers Index chart, showing an upwards triangular breakout, beating previous highs, and suggesting a rosy future for some time yet. The DCG chart mirrors this exactly - Lets hope he's right.

errr yes Cat, as they say, I hear what your saying, but I would claim that they have fallen below the ususal trading range in the latest pullback, which is not what you want to see when you have just bought them as a longer term hold, despite that I stayed with them because the news surrounding the share was all positive.

...errr...actually this is one of the nicest trending stocks out there. Even a spaz like me can manage to make money out of this one.
Should push thro' £5 on this run with any luck.
