Dividends

The proposed final dividend of 13.6 pence per share represents an increase of
4.6% on last year's final dividend of 13.0 pence. Together with the interim
dividend of 5.3 pence per share this gives a total dividend of 18.9 pence per
share for the full year. This represents a decrease of 6.0% on the dividend
declared for 2008/09. The final dividend will be paid on 5 August 2010 to
shareholders on the register on 25 June 2010.

Roughly £390m, which was substantially down on y/e! I suppose it depends on your view as to what is heavily indebted. From my own perspective it does seem heavily geared, but then the company requires substantial fixed assets and is that a function of share capital or borrowing? If you can fix your borrowing at the moment and you have a good record with the banks, then it might not be a bad thing; and for DCG that flows through to the bottom line.

This coud be an amusing few hours. It looks as though someone is trying to work an order, but with difficulty. If a number of punters followed 'The naked traders' shorting tip a few weeks ago, there could be a short term blip as the stock is worked and the shorts close. As usual - maybe wrong.

Someone must have been listening. The bounce looked quite strong, with trading levels slightly above the norm and a resistance at £3.30.

Gulliver2, I am asking that question. I am looking for a short term investment, the share looks cheap, but for some reason the support does not appear to be there. I think that it is possible for shares to become self fulfilling prophesies, until news displaces sentiment.

Improving cash flow ,reducing debt and derisking the business all very well, but what shareholders want is growth. The management need to refocus. They will be improving the carbon footprint and putting more women above the glass ceiling next.
I sold out at 402 this morning for a profit.
The City boys tend to be more into cash flow etc than private investors so the shares may bounce back next week when analysts look at the figures.

I came back in at 370 last month.Sentiment has turned positive on this share and with EPS of 45p last time there is scope for further price rises.
