Looks a pretty solid set of results.

Not sure how they work out the new taxes will only cost £32m but hey I'm not an accountant!

The fact it held and built on the gains during the day is a big positive especially as it has broke through resistance.

Not sure why you would sell here if you believe in the company. It seems to have delivered on what it promised with more to come.

Next test will be the peak update usually in early Jan.

Currys are doing very well under the circumstances. They are showing resilience in the face of some extreme events. They are currently trading at near the bottom of a severe trading cycle and with the future (even with a labour government)looking positive, we should see this move up to a decent level in the next two years.
One for your ISA or SIPP with lots of capital gains IMHO.
Fully loaded.

Hope you didn't listen to all the crows squawking earlier this year, they just want to rob you.

Fair point steeple I'm sitting on the side of the fence that says it will and expect some more positive brokers post pension review.

Currys has been containing costs and trimming cap expenditure so the recent budget has simply exacerbated things rather than derailed their corporate strategy. The question is how long demand will hold up post Christmas. The suggestion is that interest in A1 laptops in particular might enable Currys to buck what is a deteriorating retail industry outlook.Nordic operations remain difficult albeit improving in a very tough environment. It all comes down to rating which is pretty undemanding but in a UK equity market which appears drab and uninterested compared with all the fireworks surrounding Nasdaq, its anyones guess whether the share price pushs on to over a pound.

Interestingly they appear to suggest that the extra NI bill will have little or no impact on profits or turnover.....

Retailers tell the government and media one thing and the shareholders another

This is what I've been saying for ages:
"
One highlight is rising demand for AI laptops, where we enjoy over 75% market share in the UK. AI is a trend with a lot further to run.

Sounds good:
"
Current year outlook

· Trading since the period end has been consistent with the Board's expectations

· Full year guidance unchanged - the Group continues to expect growth in profits and free cash flow for the year

The Group has assessed the impact of recent changes to Government policy including the recent budget. The full year aggregated impact is expected to be an incremental cost to the Group of £32m

What I like about Curry's..
There is a heck of a lot of advertising for AI enabled laptops...
None of which are paid for by Currey's.

This means its free advertising...
