26/2/2008 18:35 | im expecting them out at 5pm on friday when everyone's gone home :-) | humbugg
26/2/2008 09:13 | they've also sold NAN & DTEC? | humbugg
26/2/2008 07:59 | Very crude calculation, bubface, based on the cash at March 07 (c£3m) the placing in May (£3m) and the sale of the Zest stake (£2.5m). I've added a bit for the sale of its stake in GSF, but since that was not announced to the LSE I have no idea what ammount was realised - it could be a great deal more. | pbracken
25/2/2008 21:38 | Corvus seems to be in free fall to me. I will keep watching, but want to see the results before I make any decisions. CMM hinted at poor 2008 trading, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a big profit warning with their results announcement. If CMM goes down the pan, just how much is the rest worth?? | topvest
25/2/2008 18:57 | hello pb was trying to work out the cash myself, can i ask how you come to £9m to save me the effort, he's liquidating everything at the moment i i've lost all track. | bubface
25/2/2008 18:39 | A spokesperson for the SFO said, As result of this investigation two defendants were convicted and two acquitted. Our job is to present the evidence to the Courts and this we did. It was then a matter for the jury to decide on that evidence whether they could be sure of the defendants guilt. Andrew Regan's acquittal is not a disaster for the SFO. The office should be judged on its overall record and not on one case.' I know it's history, but it still smells. | pbracken
25/2/2008 16:10 | Surely if Andrew Regan is going to get the kind of positive exposure in the city he so craves he must surely do something with this shell soon. The "war chest" cannot still be there as it was all dependent on Commoditrade selling at a huge surplus to the original investment. With the credit arena as it currently stands he will find it diificult to find the cash he needs for the kind of deal he is looking for, unless of course he has some private money from his friends in Monaco!!!!! We shall see. | a2584728
25/2/2008 14:53 | This company is valued at c£15m and has c£9m in cash in the bank and an asset (CMM) worth around £13m. Seems reasonable, except that CMM continues to underperform (down 17% today) and staff costs are big. What am I missing, or has the market got it about right? And where are the full year results to Sept 07? | pbracken
25/2/2008 11:46 | Commoditrade sees FY pretax profit 16 mln stg LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Commoditrade Inc said it expects a full-year pretax profit of not less than 16 mln stg despite the more challenging conditions in the latter part of the year. | sheeneqa
21/2/2008 11:45 | results for cvs and cmm were released at about this time last year, have picked up a few [more] of each as hopefully they will instill some much needed confidence.i'm hoping we might have seen the low on cmm yesterday, there's a positive move and a bit of volume. | bubface
20/2/2008 08:02 | drewster, i agree with you about AR. just get the feeling that the sale @NAN was a little premature. but what do i know. looking to buy more CVS | humbugg
19/2/2008 21:37 | Corvus are fairly unproven to date. CMM is the only success and that is marginal. Lots of potential, but what have they actually achieved? Not a lot! | topvest
19/2/2008 19:31 | Love to know how they justify admin expenses of nearly £2.6 million for 6 months. Might have some profitable investments but seems to be all paid out in salaries and bonuses. Ho hum | robbie12
19/2/2008 19:19 | Maybe Hb, but I suspect there is something more positive in the offing. pb, the investment case is all about whether you want to believe that Andrew Regan is better able to spot bargains and achieve shareholder gains in the current climate. I suspect he is, hence I am (very) long. | the drewster
18/2/2008 16:34 | big sell at DTEC, wonder if its CVS? they've been clearing their desks of late. ready to do a runner?? | humbugg
18/2/2008 14:59 | CVS may have been 'laughably cheap', drewster; it's also incontestable that today it is laughably cheaper. What's the investment case? No axe to grind you understand, just that I don't like the smell that permeates this business. | pbracken
15/2/2008 08:20 | CVS sells its entire holding in zest, looks like CVS are selling up, or AR needs the dosh to pay his champagne bill???. | humbugg
01/2/2008 16:33 | cvs sells it's entire interest in bluewater,a recent issue.think they get about £1m in the coffers, all profit knowing their model! | bubface
28/1/2008 19:08 | topvest, these things are always more about who's who (as you probably know) and back at Ascot everything was very positive. I would suspect that the fund has gone, but have no idea what the terms were, so who knows. If Regan has got 750m in this current market, I expect he would use it better than most and expect significant upside. There were plenty of shares about this morning so I hoovered some more up, I think at this price they are laughably cheap. | the drewster
27/1/2008 19:10 | It sounds almost laughable - Corvus just don't have access to such funding if you ask me, certainly now! | topvest
27/1/2008 18:56 | pb they were on the verge of bidding for EMI, the aftermath of that little jaunt was reported in the telegraph (and subsequently others) claiming Regan had 750m to go out to play with. | the drewster
24/1/2008 12:34 | CVS is now worth its 20% stake in CMM. Trtouble is, CMM is vlaued at £75m and though it 'continues to trade profitably', nobody knows what that means. I know it reported a decent first half, and has a fistfull of cash (£15m after the buy-backs?) but it only takes a whiff of disappointment for the markets to savage a share. If CMM had said it was trading profitably and in-line with expectations I'd be less concerned. But the vagueness of the statement causes me to hold off. FWIW, all the MMs are offering a bucket load of stock - the cheapest at 6.09p, well below the mid. Have I missed anything? | pbracken |
