How high now then?
Pity the proposal of dividend was not.75p as that would have really set the share price alight.

Missed an opportunity there imo.

So the crunch is what is going to be done with the cash?

The results, for what couldn't be described as a boring year, look promising particularly as lockdowns become history (hopefully).

Thanks for the link timbo003. I had missed than one, as ShareSoc send so many through which include the sharesmagazine ones.

Not the best of times thought so I might have to give it a miss but I will see if it can be picked up the next day.

Markth is correct in describing tern as a gamble and that us fine so long as that is how it is viewed.
Think TW describes it somewhat differently.

I too have a decent position in Tern but not sure that I would be selling Tern to invest more here .CRU now looks ‘safe’& our best hope is either for a high yielding stock with the possibility of a takeover at 20-25p -very acceptable as part of a portfolio .Tern remains a very high risk -high return stock with potential to 10 bag+ from here but they could also return to 6/7p on lack of news/poor news.I appreciate that putting speculative profits into a safe high yielder makes total sense in many levels but I want to see the Tern story unfold further

Been quiet of late here but I'm still here holding and happy. Been doing well on the gamble down at TERN lately and looking for a good place to put it. This looks very strong still and feel a good bit of upside still to unfold. Just missed ex div date for a top up though ... shame Think JG is playing a blinder here

So - assuming they are - by my poor calculation that's around 3.5m shares taken out or over 4%. And that should, in one way shape or another, make each share worth more. So all a nice play to get the price up. Next question is, why? ( Apart from the fact everyone likes more value) So, base7, I think the "best for him to sell the company" looks quite a compelling, not to say attractive, way out with lots of happy shareholder too

It will be interesting to see whether we bought the 900k shares sold today .
JG is ( I believe) in mid 70s it would be perfectly understandable for him to start putting his affairs in order & , in particular, try to maximise the value of any complex assets prior to a disposal. His recent disposal resulting in a trebling of our share price has increased the value of his holding by over £800k & I am sure he would want to maximise his holding. His problem,if he wants an exit , would be finding someone to buy his holding for fair value & may be best for him to try to sell the company as there does not appear, currently, to be a natural success & I presume that Paul Freud would have already stepped up if he was inclined to .
Interesting times-at last !

base7, Do you not think that it is noticeable that there have been no purchases or even sales so far today, in light of the confirmation that CRU purchased 1m shares soon after paying a dividend.

Over time others on this thread have suggested that JG himself maybe looking for a way out at not much higher a price than it currently stands at, due to his age and apparently (if true) his love of spending time in the sunshine in other European countries.

In my view a holder with a reasonable stake wants to reduce /eliminate their exposure & JG is taking it off market as the seller know that MMs will hammer them on price & this is win win for both parties.we are holding cash & assuming our 3 subsidiaries remain profitable & the full year dividend increases to 1p, our prospective yield is around 7%- so well worth buying back at these levels.

dear charo

clocktower seems to just spout whatever comes into his head every 5 minutes. One minute a good idea to buy back shares, the next a bad idea etc. This board would be so much better without his drivel IMO.

Think for yourself FFS

Clocktower what changed your mind.Coral does have a board and JG by no measure has a controlling interest.

So where did those 1m come from?

It seems to me that JG is now trying to get the share price up to enable him to do another deal, part cash more shares maybe.

Buying 1m after the dividend is like him paying 14.5p the other week, and little short of the issue price of those awards.

Not such a good idea imo, and I fear he is making another one of those mistakes that he has been prone too over the years.

A million trade - are we to see the other side to this trade, as 14p might be JG buying more stock off a willing seller I guess.

Is so we might see the share price shoot up with a RNS I guess.

Everyone just sitting on their hands waiting for JG's next move but if he uses what cash he has left for another purchase, if it is anything of size he will need to issue a lot more shares or find the company cash strapped until Q3 imo.

His options are becoming more limited, as he needs to use some of the cash that the business is now earning to maintain decent dividends, which he will need to do to keep everyone on board and getting a decent return.

We also now have another possible big seller in the mix. After divi day, we might see some that sold out at around 14/14.5p picking up more stock at even lower levels and getting ready to take advantage of the next divi day, which in percentage terms I guess might be higher, or JG might buy more for the treasury to keep the share price up.

We soon shall see which way this is going to swing.

temelco, the money as you know is only in Q3 and cannot be counted now as cash.

WhIreland. And the note shows the cash. There is a very substantial net current asset position even excluding cash.Working capital excluding cash for reinvestment is not an issue.
