Shame to see good but undervalued UK companies continually snapped up on the cheap by overseas buyers though.

Certainly has. I would have been perfectly happy holding this for some time. I guess the Bidco also thought GLO were a decent buy.

I've sold out - reckon I can do better over the next 4-5 months with my cash than the couple of % potential gain now on offer here. Offer price reduces to 259.6p after divi as well. Shame to see it go as I like good quarterly divi payers. I intend to top up DEC, HFEL and NESF. Good luck all, GLO has been a very nice little earner for most of us.

Fair enough... I'll prob hold for the Divi in the meantime and sell when I find something else when the opportunity arises.

Lol, so you are going to hang on for an extra 4 /5p per share? Seems bonkers to me. It will likely take 6 months before you receive the proceeds, which at current inflation rate (9%), will cost you 4.5% (cost of money). I sold out of 20k shares yesterday at 258, bgt sfor at 287 5 minutes later. I have missed out on 5p per share, so £1000, cost me £3 to sell, BUT thisdeal could fall through and I have the money now (4.5 % of 51,600 is over £2300 odd). Hopefully this money will work hard for me over the next 6 months. No brainer.

Thanks.... I think I will wait for the 4p Divi and get 259 or so in that case and save the dealing costs in the meantime while I search for something else

@jimmladd1 due to the uncertainty of the deal going through and I think 4p gets chopped off the price because of the upcoming divi

Sorry if I'm being dim ... Is there any reason why this is not trading closer to the offer price?

Thanks for the ideas. I think HFEL is likely to be my main new purchase - will probably also top up a few existing holdings in AV, MNG and maybe PSN.

I hold NESF, BSIF and GCH - so absent any other ideas will probably top those up

I'm a bit heavy in HFEL. But yes, worth a top up at this level.

Well I'm not complaining with a 35% gain on this investment but would rather have kept it forever and banked the 7% yield every year

Yes, I hold and like HFEL too - that might be worth a top up, while share price is relatively low.

Yes Woodhawk. Funny enough I just slapped in some capital to DEC. Already have NESF. Also added to VSL at 9.5% yield.

I like DEC (Diversified Energy), quarterly payer circa 11% currently. Trading update yesterday. Divi imminent. (NB 15% withholding tax on Divi with W-8BEN or none if in SIPP). I hold NESF too.

I've sold today. The question now is where to park the funds. I may add to NESF. Any other thoughts?

Good point KKR to be fair aren't Elon Musk - so IMO it's a low chance of not happening

Always had a tiny free float, hard to margin, illiquidity discount Nice to get the bump But annoying in that another good infra company goes private and if I want to invest now I'll have to pay KKRs 2 and 20 and have even less liquidity
