12/5/2022 13:37 | I notice in the AGM resolutions the acceptance to buy back shares was passed. Could that be an option for the capital from the sale to increase shareholder value? Buy backs | rogerramjett
12/5/2022 11:26 | Yes, that's me too - slow but sure these days, constantly reinvesting above-average divis. | woodhawk
12/5/2022 11:00 | Thanks. Yes, I have e read through the website. At best, if they returned net capital to shareholders we could be looking at a 10p special dividend. Would it not be more beneficial to take that capital and invest into further cash generating assets or do they prefer long term debt for that ? Very tempted to add some more. Not sure if these are off the radar or what ? share price doesn't seem to do much in either direction and given the wider market I would say energy could be a relatively safe place to be. Up and running cash generative plants. Known income and costs. Consistently paying a rising dividend. Thats what I'm all about these days. No more rainbow chasing | rogerramjett
11/5/2022 22:00 | rogerramjett, The info is on their website, all you have to do is look. PS re DLG, I have been out of the money, share price wise, for ages there, but the massive divis vastly outweigh the 'loss'. In this game you need patience. I could soon have doubled my money and still be at a 'loss' share price wise. IMB, RIO, the same applies - forget the share price until you *might* need to cash in and let those big divis roll in endlessly. | woodhawk
11/5/2022 18:08 | I know its from the asset sale but what is the expectation for the special divi likely to be ? Looking through last years dividend declarations the release date was 13th May which was a Thursday last year so may be tomorrow morning. Very tempting to add a few to those I bought the other day. Trying to maintain a balance across my portfolio. Some horror stories such as DLG but I remain invested as the dividend is good and I believe it better than the market prices it at. I'm liking the investment trusts. NESF and GSF. Also GCP. All holding up well. GLO is another take on the energy theme. I have a couple of mining shares. One being POLY 🤣. Massively under water on that. The other being RIO. Plus IMB in tobacco. Trying to be diverse. A few others in their HFEL and some other infrastructure trusts which are non energy. But GLO has really caught my eye. Forward dividend will be over 8% if they apply the same principles as previous that being a 10% increase. Price in a fairly tight range. Just a cash generating cow | rogerramjett
11/5/2022 09:51 | Yes, AGM Statement and Q1 Trading update due Friday morning. Hoping for news of potential special divi. | woodhawk
11/5/2022 09:39 | Are GLO due to release a dividend declaration and update this week ? | rogerramjett
11/5/2022 09:32 | Great update at NESF this morning, 8.7% increase in NAV and divi up 5%. Looking for some good news from GLO... | woodhawk
10/5/2022 20:45 | Thats around an 8.4% yield on current share price | rogerramjett
10/5/2022 20:44 | Thats not much more than the last 4 dividend payments. Maybe factoring a different exchange rate. 0.04465 x 1.1 is 0.049c 0.049/1.23 (gbp to usd as of today)= 3.99p | rogerramjett
10/5/2022 14:06 | I have 3.70p pencilled in, but I don't think I have allowed for recent exchange rate improvement. Declared this Friday, ex-divi on 26th and paid on 10th June. | woodhawk
10/5/2022 13:51 | So the actual quarterly dividend currently a 7.6% yield at 0.04465c per quarter will be raised by 10% to 0.04915 from this month and next dividend declaration based upon their policy? That would make it 8.5% dividend. Is it worth adding some more ? | rogerramjett
10/5/2022 13:27 | I think there's going to be a sizeable move (hopefully up) shortly - trigger could be 10% increase in regular divi AND special divi from proceeds of Brazil sale, news due 2nd quarter 2022, poss by end this week after AGM. In the meantime, rack up those great quarterly divis. | woodhawk
10/5/2022 13:18 | Just bought a few of these. Seem to be relatively stable dividend payer with a 10% increase declared in the annual report. Thats what I'm looking for. Some stability in these uncertain times. share price unlikely to set the world on fire but don't care. | rogerramjett
13/4/2022 16:09 | Is anyone here in Gresham house (GRE)... I was looking at both about 18 months ago, and ended up plumping for Contour... Dhurr... should have split the buy..!! | steve73
13/4/2022 15:55 | Thanks breezer, that helps. Waiting for a share sale to clear and transfer to ISA. Think I will invest here. 73 percent of shares owned by 1 party I notice (Reservoir Capital - specialist power investment fund). That will keep the share price stable (reminds me of fres). This looks a good isa buy in tricky times with a good growing dividend | wallywoo
13/4/2022 14:31 | Wallywoo - 1) 90% of the debt is fixed rate (XXX.contourglobal.c 2) Most thermal generation enjoys cost pass through - the cost of the inputs are irrelevant to GLO.. | breezer_42
13/4/2022 12:18 | I too am looking at this as a potential isa investment. To me there are risks with; 1) the company has a market cap of £1.2b with net debt of $3.9b. Some of that debt is fixed but a lot is variable. With inflation around the world rife, interest rates are rising and will continue too. This is a threat imo and could hit profits very hard. 2) the largest cost to this business is natural gas. This has been rising rapidly and could hit profits hard?? Just a thgt or two. What are anyone else's opinion?? | wallywoo
01/4/2022 11:07 | Not a holder here at the moment but there was a nice article in IC this week. On a PE of 22 and a healthy divi, this looks like one for the ISA when I'm home from holidaying in sunny Gran Canaria. Nice to see this board isn't populated by nutters too. | npp62
01/4/2022 10:40 | I have no idea. I am primarily here for the dividends - although a quick chunky profit due to a takeover would not go amiss. | woodhawk
01/4/2022 10:11 | Woodhawk, Do you think there is some possibility CNA may make GLO a bid? This is off CNA final results. " We will also look to invest in growth opportunities in support of the energy transition, for example our potential investments in two gas peaking plants in Ireland, or in solar and battery projects, subject to appropriate returns." | turvart
01/4/2022 07:50 | ex divi was only 3.39p think we will get a positive ts in may on spain plant | rolo7
31/3/2022 12:36 | Sorry can't remember, although I'm not surprised - well undervalued, imo. | woodhawk
31/3/2022 12:19 | Woodhawk, Held up nicely today ex-div, does it usually do this? | turvart |
