I have to say that you must be the most negative person I have ever met.I am not just saying that I really mean it.You have to look at the many positive things and evaluate risk and compare to the huge upside.

I see.......and where is that exactly? Given the present share price, the staggeringly generous financial arrangements with the board, their presumable need for funding and regulations ( with reference to the nominal share price ) concerning the price at which they can raise money, I think I can see where this is going...........but hey......I haven't got a pair of rose-tinted glasses......

No,what I got yesterday was a real sense of where this could be leading!

Fracking was transformational for the oil industry and had a major impact and this could be the same.If it is, this could be HUGE for cgnr!

Things are starting to look very interesting for this company.major economies are deep in debt with no signs they can reverse this, and with the situation getting worse by the day. There has to be a limit and a reckoning day. This augers well for the gold price. We have potentially many millions of ounces of gold and a market cap of just over 2 million pounds. We now have the possibility of new technology which could save 50% of production costs and make development a no brainer.

Cynical.I expected you to say that. This new technology could be transformational.

Newprom - clutching at straws there..... : ) Remind me again how long it took them to get the pilot plant tests done with the technology they had chosen? If they start playing with new technology...........I guess it could be another 10 years before they start producing......oh silly me, it could be ten years anyway...... : )

After I mentioned them today the nippon dragon resources share price triple bagged. The increase would suggest that the process is of real value.Could cgnr be a benificiary of this technology? Could this make cgnr a no brainer for a partner?

Nippon dragon resources of canada is the company who have developed this. This process is supposed to be revolutionary.Cutting cost of production by half and reducing footprint by up to 80% making the regulatory process much easier.Sound good for cgnr if it is ,"as promised".

I have just been informed of a new process called "thermal fragmentation" developed by a canadian company recently.A process that cuts cost of production by around 50%.Which will make cgnr assets very viable.Could this be the turning point for this company?

Cynical.Of course and the professors goal is to get the mine up and running which will enable money to be made.

He has a major shareholding that could be worth a lot of money. He will not give up on this project that is for sure.I believe this project means a lot to him.Money at his age is probably not the main consideration. This means more than that.

newprom:

I simply cannot understand you saying that the professor has far too much to lose.
My view is that, at least financially, he has nothing to lose. Thanks to salary, fees, pension, etc. that we pay for, he is in here, largely or wholly, with a free ride.
If the gold deposit and financial conditions allow for the mine to be successful (and, boy, are we years away from that at best) then great. If not, he has lost nothing.

Apart from his reputation; which for all but the blind, is shot to pieces...and has been for some time.
Sad way to end a career but utterly deserved.

Taking a balanced view ,some criticism of him is justified and some is not but no denying that he has a great track record of raising equity. That equity has been raised by people who believe in the company and have paid much more than the present share price and at all different times of development. These people are not stupid people they believe in the company for a reason. In my opinion for a company like cgnr director remunerations are too high as a percentage of spend,in that respect you are right. But as the directors have a major shareholding themselves they are to a certain extent paying themselves so are not benefiting as much as it seems but certainly your point is valid.

I'll give him credit for managing to take fairly handsome fees while overseeing a dramatic collapse in the share price....that is an achievement.............a real achievement......how much are the board going to earn this year? compare that with the value of the company? compare that with the amount spent on the ground developing the project?

The one thing that you have to give credit to the professor for is the ability to raise equity. He has come this far he will not let it go at this stage. We have better prospects and are more advanced now than all those years ago when you deemed fit to invest in this company, when the share price was much higher and the market cap was much higher. The professor is very clever and has far too much to lose.

Newprom's logic of the cheaper the share price gets the better the upside potential from better times in the future ignores one very obvious point which is very relevant in the case of CGNR. If you run out of cash before the gold price rockets then someone else picks up the trade and assets from an administrator for diddly squat. That's the only place I would put fresh equity now. JV or bust.

Cynical. We were talking immediate expenditure and you stated that they needed to spend money on a processing plant.Really intelligent would you not say? The gold price will obviously benefit cgnr more because it is so lowly rated at about 2 million pounds.A rise in gold prices could make cgnr a no brainer for a partner which would multibag the share price immediately . You are so lacking in any thought if you cannot see why it would be so beneficial to cgnr.
