This seems an unnatural rise based on the observable trading data, very little buying volume behind this move. It’s suggestive of a worked buy order in the background.

Moving again UP 3.9% at 26.75 and volume 73000. Imagine how it will move if we get some serious volume.

Ticked up 1% in early trades of just 24000. The latest buy was at 26.95P. The FT is sharply down this morning so let’s see if we can continue yesterday’s rise as investors realise what a big vote of confidence about gold in Nicaragua has been made by Rio Tinto.

We finished at number 9 on the leader board UP 8.42% at 25.75p and a volume of 232000. I think 27p was paid by someone towards the end. It is about time we saw a recover and I hope it is maintained starting tomorrow.

When the riser board updates we should finish in the top 10.

Canada is a major market fro gold stocks and the valuations tend to be considerably higher than on UK markets. The problem is that the Canadian market has not taken much notice of Condor and the volumes are tiny. It would probably help if CNR could get its share price and hence its market cap back to levels it has seen in the past. Current market cap is £22 million and it would be taken a lot more seriously if it was £50 million plus, as this would bring it in the sights of institutional buyers who often have minimum market cap levels before they will consider investing.

It appears that it was up over 30% on the TSX last night, the price here bears little relationship to that in Canada. Sooner or later this must resolve, imho.

A 50000 buy at 24p is the last trade on Condor this morning taking the volume to 86000. Gold after an early dip is now 1658.

Bomber 13 well spotted and it certainly makes interesting reading. As you say the fact that Rio want to explore in Nicaragua is extremely positive. Rio must not only have decided that there are good opportunities for gold and copper but also that they will get permission to mine it. Further why in the first instance bother to explore when Condor has a ready to go mining opportunity and everyone is certain there is a lot more gold on Condors land than the currently proven reserves. We can also expect a profit of US$1000 per oz at the current gold price.
I think Mark should get a meeting set up with Rio ASAP if he hasn’t already.

It is particularly interesting to note that Rio Tinto , no less , has done a farm-in deal with Calibre Mining on its Borosi projects in North-East Nicaragua today ( see link below ) in order to explore for bulk tonnage copper/gold porphyry systems . Furthermore , Rio Tinto and Calibre have entered into a strategic alliance to identify and acquire ground with similar potential elsewhere in Nicaragua .

Perhaps they should start by talking to Condor ? In December , 2018 , Condor increased its land position around La India by 45% ( see link below ) , which included the Las Cruces concession . This is an area forming part of an old volcanic caldera , and is the likely source of Condor's gold-bearing La India vein systems . Significantly , however , it has copper anomalies at surface , which makes it an exciting bulk tonnage porphyry style target .

If indeed Condor is already in talks with Calibre regarding a toll mining deal on its high grade feeder pits at La India , which are awaiting environmental permits any day now , it also seems quite likely that talks might include the Las Cruces concession as well ?

There has to be an increasing chance of something finally happening at Condor’s La India project with a gold price near to US$1700 , which promises post cap-ex net margins of US$1000 per oz . Notwithstanding this , the mere fact that a global mining major such as Rio Tinto is entering Nicaragua to explore for big undiscovered copper porphyry systems carries its own hugely positive recommendation .

Admittedly on tiny volume but Condor on its Canadian listing is up 44% at .62 CAD which converts to 36p. Let’s hope a lot of Canadians start to get interest as gold stocks command higher valuations in Canada.

There are about 9 gold shares in the top 30 risers with gains of upto 28%. It is disappointing that Condor is not currently joining them.

Gold currently 1686. In times gone by CNR would have reacted to movements like this as it increases the value of our gold in the ground quite dramatically. I realise markets are taking a beating today but that’s even more reason to buy gold and gold stocks. It’s disappointing to see just 3 trades this morning but at least they are all buys.

I had been watching it slide again and should have pressed the buy button when it bottomed in December, but finally did on Friday for another 15,000 at 23.5.
I feel confident that with most of the major permitting hurdles covered; the support being given to the local community; the current pro mining government plus this rosy glow on the gold price, the future looks positive.
