16/2/2004 08:25 | Interesting posts Im a shareholder in Indigovision they seem to be doing well and its the same area.If it hadnt been for the warning last year staff cuts and all I would of said this had been overlooked but I dont think it has.The ceo threw the towel in and I would say the bigger players are basically winning the contracts over coe. | rbonnier
15/2/2004 17:54 | Thinking, I personally wont add just yet until I've had a better look at COE but if they get some wind behind them they could fly. They are apparantly in for some new contracts and news on those would obviously be beneficial. The best news I suppose would be an extension of the town cenre congestion schemes planned by other large cities given the success in London. If COE remain a part of that then they could really take off. Unfortunately there are some big players in COE's market but if they find a niche it could pay dividends. There are some seasoned posters on other boards who know far more than me about the competition and technolgy. It might be worth us asking for some views on COE, who they may of course be unaware of. | warranty
15/2/2004 17:47 | Warranty. like your handle i wish we all had one of those when we bought Scoot.... anyway we are all still here waiting to turn it round, which i must admit looks possible if we move upward from here. May try to short circuit it by buying some more to average the old lag down a bit. What do u reckon? | thinking
15/2/2004 17:44 | Ged5, I have the same copy tucked up in the loft somewhere. I remember buying my first scoot at 48p in August 99 and selling some for 1.52 in June 02. I kept the others in my ISA and you're right they were around 3.50 at best. Shame I didn't sell then but greed is a terrible thing!! I've had them all during that time up to the Eventual "rip off" by the management and sell out to BT. I actually thought they were a right off and though I'll never get my money back on my current shares, I'm probably about break even all up. I do like the new company though and feel it could be payback time as security is a growth area, particularly surveillance I believe and COE's technology certainly looks impressive. I'm looking to take a small holding as I think it's background could actually help it in the future in a perverse sort of way, but I'd like it to pull back a little more first whilst I do bit more research. Thinking, thanks for the welcome and let's hope our faith is eventually rewarded. I think you may find the BB get's a little busier as COE gets more recognised again by the "oldies" like us. There are still a lot of us you know. | warranty
15/2/2004 16:50 | Been a holder since the Scoot days, good to see a couple of old names on the bb. Need some help though as I have often kept an eye on this one as I even invested in COE following the changes but am now surprised at both the spread as its the tightest I can remember since the Scoot days and also the interest in this share and the bb. I may even invest more as I believe it to have a future purely based on security needs. Have I missed something or will it be all quite again next week. hello to all the old time holders...... | thinking
14/2/2004 12:20 | warranty, I've just started checking out. Wasn't too impressed with the trading statement and results last September. However at least the 2 matched up, which shows the management aren't giving bull to the shareholders and that they're aware of what's going on. Also visited the website which seems quite impressive. Don't know too much about this area of technology but the range of products looks good. I wonder if they'll develop any wireless products. Will keep a look out next week to see if there's a buying opportunity. PS During the first week of February 1999 I bought my first copy of IC. The tips that week included Coral Products (about 50p) and Scoot (about 2p). I chose CP and eventually sold at a small profit a year later. Didn't Scoot manage to get to £3.00 in the same period? Strange that in this weeks IC, CP is again being tipped at 58p(wont be renewing my subscription next time) and then you point out COE to me on the same day. I hope I make the right decision this time around. | ged5
13/2/2004 17:50 | JNBRW, go to their web site 'www.coe.co.uk and you'll find plenty of info and up to date as well. They are involved in the London Congestion Scheme which if successful, and it does seem to be, could lead to significant opportunities elsewhere. With cameras on bus lanes, motorways, city centres, airports et al the potential market would appear to be huge, and not just in this country. Naturally there is competition but their technology does seem to be leading edge. Given managements history however with Scoot and Timeload it's perhaps not surprising that many pro's have given it a wide berth so far but with good news it could certainly fly. Just consider all those like us who got stuck with small numbers of shares not worth selling. If they came back into the market place to average down it could rocket. Clearly a gamble but one that looks pretty worthwhile to me. Only sorry I didn't check in like partner before the recent rise. Took my eye off this ball like most other holders from way back, but a bit of publicity may get it back on track. | warranty |
