70p seems quite strong resistance looking at the chart but on the bright side the share price does look to move upwards fairly quickly once that egg is cracked.

Without news the share price won,t recover unless gold does a moon shot.Does the chicken come before the egg.
Its declined overall a lot less than many miners ,but its certainly taking its time in joining the rally.....imho

Wouldn't it be nice if Cluff actually produced one of these much awaited updates a little earlier than expected, rather than always being late. Although I think there may be some mileage in the comment made by amargosa that Cluff may be delaying the DFS until there is a rocovery in the share price for funding reasons.

Idle chat alert: Peter Spivey is persuaded to join company because of the potential in Baomahun (and he does love his technical planning - just look at how the DFS is taking so long) and McGloin joins because of the potential in Yaoure. Well, we are about to find out in the next couple of weeks (for Yaoure) and months (for Baomahun) if they made the right decisions.

There is one heck of a lot of news to get through in the next 6 months - it will all arrive at some point; I see the timing forecasts more as guidelines myself!

Okay 3 weeks left for CLF to announce 2 important updates:
•Baomahun resource update
•Yaoure drill results

Anyone actually thinking they will release both in Q2?

Burkina Faso exploration update is stated for Q3 2012 in the presentation and was mentioned in the webcast yesterday as well. Will include both an update on Kalsaka and Sega.

Thanks sammy.

No mention of Sega drill results anywhere?

Edit: found it: from the Q1 Results:

Prior to completion of the acquisition of Sega, a 10,000m RC drilling programme was completed at the property by Orezone covering 11 targets. Initial results received are currently being evaluated, with an initial 5,000m of RC drilling planned to follow up on three targets with the most significant intercepts.

In addition to Sega, exploration continued at the Kalsaka site during Q1, following up on prospective areas defined along strike from the existing mineral reserves. Some additions to the short term oxide life of the mine are anticipated from this work, with full results expected to be available in Q3 2012.

If the company thinks it can prove up 1m oz at Yaoure (from 300k now) by the end of the year, then the impending set of results will need to be good.

Hey guys,

I found this really interesting interview with Pete Gardner, Finance Director at Cluff Gold.

Its worth a listen:

Interesting listening to today's presentation, lots to consider. I do get the impression they are continually delaying the DFS for some reason, waiting for a better share price perhaps after publication of positive news? The new chairman may know his onions, but he needs a bit of buffing up on the presentation front (nothing wrong with me mixing a few metaphors, just like the accounts are littered with split infinitives). Just sayin.

feasibility dtudy now in Aug.. at least we are expecting some resource news soon.

CLF remain confident of funding $100m through debt and as much as possible of the remainder through operational cash flows.. expect to start producing 100koz from SEGA at lower costs from q1 next year. (from the conf call).

More delays. Results were ok.Interesting to see how the market reacts.Resource updates and upgrades are urgently needed to hold the share price.Good news on the current assets, totaling £113m.Above current market cap.Once again we are still on Jam tomorrow.I suspect the shares may be marked down today, only because of lower production targets and more delays, even though they are forcast.Lots of potential as ever but still a very long way to go.All of the projects could be pushed on at a faster rate with more cash and resources.Still not enough information for a firm takeover I guess.

'But i am fairly sure that progress is being made behind the scenes' Yes, that's the impression I got (at the AGM).

Fair to assume, no one attended the AGM?

The SEGA PEA was supposed to be completed in May, also. One other thing to add to the delayed list.

Amargosa: thanks for posting the link to the accounts. They are certainly better than some others you see, however, my main concern really is about how they give specific deadlines (when there is no real need) like drill results in March, SEGA PEA in May, Resource upgrade May?, BFS in June. And then miss them and give a specific deadline for something else..

But i am fairly sure that progress is being made behind the scenes. The BFS (now in July according to analysts), will have the preferred financing mechanism as well, which could be really interesting.
