17/5/2012 08:18 | What the hells happening to the price decline any reasons ? | jamesjoel
17/5/2012 00:50 | Mozy.....lol, Yes i,m feeling ok.My intention on the miners is to buy small and often on any price weakness, scaling in sort of thing up here as there is likely some downside along the way.Bottom ?,no idea. The fall here is on low volume and we are really only performing in line with the sector on a 12m basis and have caught up with a largish fall recently. As this is thinly traded its gone almost bidless during the market carnage so if there is only sellers it makes things appear worse. In any crash this could drop down to 30-40p very quickly indeed but wont,t stay there, so in view of the fact that we may have a day or 2 very soon with crash like falls ,some stink bids way out of the money may pay very well. A placing did cross my mind but it seems a little to soon since the one at 92p,but who knows. imho | pineapple1
16/5/2012 20:03 | Cluff get a mention in this article from today | fitton
16/5/2012 18:11 | If we're speculating.....I've noticed how easy it is to manipulate this share (up or down) and the movements tend to be exaggerated (up or down). The last time I recall, CitiBank bought a shed load of shares at the bottom of the fall and then the price went rapidly back up. We all know the company is negotiating a financing deal for SL right now; it's not beyond the realms of possibility there is some background manipulation going on. However, the share price has moved in only a slightly more exaggerated form than other similarly sized gold producers, so perhaps it's just a function of poor liquidity. Answers on a post card. Edit: Rogsim - if you ring the company up and speak to their PR person (Carrie Lun), she is always happy to discuss things, but you just get the company line. Better off going to the AGM and speak to the organ grinder. | amargosa
16/5/2012 17:19 | fitton Thanks. I appreciate your posts and those of amargosa (and others) and I think we are all united in a sense of bewildered optimism re. the company. I've written to CLF Investor Relations but they refuse to reply and that doesn't help. I'm considering attending the AGM to ask Mr Spivey a few questions directly, but that will involve doing a "runner" from other commitments. By then, of course, we may have a clearer picture re. Baomahun and the future. That's it from me for the time being. Honestly. | rogsim
16/5/2012 17:06 | rogsim No need for apologies.Any view point that may provide a reason for the fall, is always useful. My point is, its a shame we all need to keep speculating. If there is a problem, the company should issue a statement explaining any problem straight away.If there is no problem then we should see a rise tomorrow. | fitton
16/5/2012 16:49 | fitton Fair enough, but I was trying to be helpful. Apologies. | rogsim
16/5/2012 16:46 | Very annoying everyone having to keep speculating. The fall seems to be overdone unless there is a production problem or something.I guess the good old owners of the company, the shareholders, will be the last to know. | fitton
16/5/2012 16:35 | amargosa Indeed, but I'm talking about sentiment, not logic or realism. | rogsim
16/5/2012 16:16 | Algy hasn't got much of a stake in CLF, around 1.8 million shares (without checking) and some options (if still valid). Watch the video I posted a few posts back: Algy has gone - name change anyone? I bought a few today, at the end of the day; one lot marked as a sell as usual. | amargosa
16/5/2012 16:08 | Does anyone feel that sentiment might be affected by concern over Mr Cluff's intentions with regard to CLF when launching his new venture? He has stated that he has no intention of selling his holding, but maybe there are suspicions that he might? It's not my view, of course, but sentiment is susceptible to such things. | rogsim
16/5/2012 15:58 | Pineapple are you feeling ok? Buying gold miners, what ever next. I agree tho, it does look like capitualtion and the valuation on the miners is stupid. Just wish i was as wise, and got out like yourself. | mozy123
16/5/2012 15:21 | I expect there is a placing or something,who knows | fitton
16/5/2012 14:45 | The $64,000 question. | amargosa
16/5/2012 13:31 | Why is the share price plummeting? I would have thought gold shares would rise in these circumstances. | tedg41
16/5/2012 13:09 | I have added today x 2. Is this the bottom ,i don,t know but the downside /upside risk looks good from here.Capitualtion in the miners is close...imho In fact i have bought CEY and more POG today. The miners are hated which is now why i like em. It feels wrong looking at all the red paint but its never worked for me when i felt all warm, fuzzy and comfortable when buying anything.Usually ends up being a bad trade....imho | pineapple1
16/5/2012 13:06 | Broker Westhouse Securities reckons West Africa-focused Cluff Gold (LON:CLF) still looks attractive after meeting with the gold miner. At an EV/Resource oz of just $47/oz, Cluff continues to look good value, said the broker, which has a 'strong buy' recommendation and 117 pence target price. Concerns over the scale of the potential fundraising at Baomahun should be lowered by the preliminary economic assessment at the producing Kalsaka mine in Burkina Faso as this should highlight Cluff's flexibility going forwards, the broker said. Shares dipped to 68 pence today. | fitton
16/5/2012 09:58 | fitton, it all depends on the markets, they're in charge. | amargosa

16/5/2012 09:19 | Have we just hit the bottom or are Cluff shares going lower?Any views | fitton
15/5/2012 21:19 | Floating not much above cash so a floor at least (£3.75 cash float £4.25). No pre-IPO funding? All secret at to what they are looking at but it looks very interesting. My guess is if not a JV in the North Sea then taking out a distressed asset or licence in Africa (disparate project possibilities but leadership has a good chance of success at both). Any ticker allocated? | rabbitman2
15/5/2012 15:36 | Here's Algy Cluff's new baby: Cluff Natural Resources Plc is a new AIM investing company founded by Algy Cluff to acquire and make strategic investments globally in oil & gas and mining projects. EXPECTED ADMISSION DATE: 22 May 2012 | zangdook
15/5/2012 07:20 | Well consensus is generally wrong.I don,t think we will see new highs in 2012 but according to martin armstrong thats good for the long term bull market and means much higher prices in the future. | pineapple1
15/5/2012 07:17 | Maybe we are reaching the reach the low point for gold.General concensus seems to be that gold is still due to rise to new levels later in the year. | fitton |
