The biggest risk shareholder risk in commercial banking is a sudden lending splurge to all the wrong people. This is clearly not happening here and the bad debt rate has moved higher from a minuscule record low figure of 0.6%. The rest of the business seems to be growing and cost control is the job of management. This is a good stock and I continue to be a firm holder.

Trading update seems to have produced a rather large drop in the share price Having read it, I find it very difficult to come up with an explanation for such an extreme reaction.

after it consolidates and turns upwards .

Bit of a dip off the back of todays trading update.
Despite that, there doesn't seem to be any company specific concerns, probably just the ongoing uncertainty over the brexit situation.

ITO, agreed. Have watched CBG for a while and decided that the sell off was overdone for a normal market and it was time to purchase. That said it is the first time I have invested for a long while given that I am still uncertain about the long term health of the UK market.
