27/10/2011 08:41 | Poor results, but who knows if they can get 10 or 15% knocked off their rents and better weather over December than last year, they could make decent profits. Since the share price was priced as if admin was on the cards, it doesn't surprise me to see a little gain. | hoper2
27/10/2011 07:22 | "..Embattled retailer Clinton Cards has said plunging consumer confidence and a lack of shoppers on the high street pushed it to a £10.7 million loss last year. The greetings card and gift chain, which owns 596 Clintons stores and 127 Birthdays stores, fell into the red in the year to July 31 after recording pre-tax profits of £11.97 million the previous year..." (PA) Share price holding up remarkably well, at the moment. | m.t.glass
27/10/2011 07:16 | I would suggest the results look a tad alarming - but remember this is retrospective and hence the drop over past year. Increase in borrowing of £12m, increase in liabilities of £20m. Unless there is a rabbit in the hat it looks like curtains as the previous years seeming good work on debt reduction is beginning to unravel.. | dusseldorf
27/10/2011 06:26 | Horrible results. If anyone bought in thinking there was a pleasant surprise driving the share price up over the past week, they've been had. (The sensible ones sold yesterday when they saw that negative candle taking shape) The Independent last night had this to say about one competitor: | m.t.glass
26/10/2011 19:39 | results tomorrow! | s34icknote
24/10/2011 19:30 | and i thought some one had read me post ! I,m in at 8.5p. And PFD at 4p. At least i know the down side with these Just a few pence ! Look at how Debs are doing despite the doom and gloom ! | s34icknote
24/10/2011 14:10 | results due on Thursday - perhaps someone caught a sneak preview | dusseldorf
24/10/2011 13:58 | Why is it up so much today? | johncraven
24/10/2011 13:45 | Was very close to buying at 8p, but decided to wait until thurs and have a look at the results. Looks like a bad decision at the moment | hoper2
20/10/2011 19:44 | Could be interesting. See a lot aof large selling at low prices on alot of small caps which sends the shares really low. Think last year was bad due to snow and sales decline only 3.5%! Think it will be business as usual come xmas i,m in today ! Lets face it people dont mind spending a few £ here and there. Look at Costa and there coffee! Good luck to all that gamble ! | s34icknote
20/10/2011 10:30 | Also it's becoming more popular to send ecards at Xmas or donate and not send. | lennonsalive
20/10/2011 09:36 | The problem they also have is that having dropped prices ( and quality) on a lot of the products they were selling, to lower price, they suffer turnover drops. | clocktower
20/10/2011 08:17 | Go into town/city and have a look at what they sell. Also these shops arent busy. Take a look at the previous set of figures and forecasts on digital look. Purse strings tighten, do people want to spend £4 on a card, when they can get one cheaper from a card warehouse or supermarket. IMHO. | lennonsalive
19/10/2011 17:24 | Results due on the 27th Oct. | hoper2
19/10/2011 11:42 | Results must be due any day now so should provide some answers. | wakeland
19/10/2011 10:10 | I haven't bought any yet, but "if" the banks have agreed to renew their loan facility - why would the new CEO join if they had not - and the possibility of some sort of CVA, they could be a steal at this price. Remember 3-years ago when the share price dropped to this level they rebounded to over 50p. Despite what people say about the supermarkets, moonpig and all the other competition I'm not sure they are actually losing any market share. Anyone know for sure if they are? Facts no guessing please. | hoper2
19/10/2011 08:14 | GET WELL SOON... | addict
19/10/2011 07:53 | Among the MMs, Winterfloods just lowered bid price to 5.75p | m.t.glass
18/10/2011 14:14 | Clinton Cards is mentioned in this FT article about the difficulty big fish can sometimes have when arriving in small ponds: | m.t.glass
07/10/2011 12:41 | The demise of CC ..? | blueball
28/9/2011 19:53 | Is any one following this ? Lots of speculation ! | s34icknote
26/9/2011 12:29 | Whats going on ! | s34icknote
15/9/2011 12:43 | I always walk past my local shop and its nearly always dead - card factory always has more customers...the new CEO has his work cut out imo but its worth keeping this on your watch list. | pictureframe |
