The bit of that article you missed is:

"In dollar terms, foreign direct investment fell more than 4 percent from a year earlier last quarter, a smaller decline than the previous three months, according to Bloomberg calculations based on previously reported data. The rupiah was little changed at 12,982 a dollar today."

Investment in Indonesia climbed to a record in the first full quarter since Joko Widodo became president, providing a boost to the leaders goal of revitalizing Southeast Asia's biggest economy.

Total investment rose 16.9 percent to a quarterly record of 124.6 trillion rupiah ($9.6 billion) in the first three months of 2015 from a year earlier, helped by a weaker rupiah, Franky Sibarani, the head of the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board, said in Jakarta on Tuesday. Approved foreign investment climbed 14 percent in rupiah terms, faster than the 10.5 percent rate the previous quarter.

FDI, needs to be taken as a % of GDP. This is the benchmark that matters.

> but does not mean they have to give the family silverwares for it

If they cannot prove that they are invest-able then they have a problem.

Others will not want to invest, as they will worry that the same may happen to them IMO.

Very wrong debbs.
1 the uk government would never get involved with a tiny plc trade despite.
and
2 that Indonesians need any help attracting foreign investment and somehow need to settle this with chl to get investments is an OUTRIGHT LIE
What the likes of Debbs will not tell you in her thousands of biased posts is that foreign investment has never been so high in Indonesia, reaching a new record high last quarter,
Care to respond to that FACT debs? or anyone peddling the myth that the Indonesia government need to settle with chl for foreign investment to flow.

Oh yeah the biggest investors in Indonesia are singaporean, Malaysians and the Japs

Yeah, I think that's likely going to be a catalyst for some positivity here. Thus some are knocking this. They see it on the horizon too.

I'm personally focused on the fact that Indonsia wants foreign investment.

They will not encourage much if they continue with this case.
