Part of the much heralded great rotation out of bonds? People looking for greater yields from equities than they get with bonds...

It's the desire for stable yield that has increased in a volatile climate imo.

I don't think it can simply be about the yield, as that's been there for a long time. Something must be happening somewhere!

cestnous - there's been some wonderful buying opportunities in CSN over the past 12 months to lock into a great dividend yield. being optimistic it would be nice if recent 200p resistance could now become support. however being realistic i'm sure that wider issues (e.g. US debt limit deadline, ongoing Eurozone problems) will serve up further buying opportunities in the coming 12 months. i'm trying to keep the CSN shares firmly locked away in the bottom drawer + benefit from the steadily rising dividend over time, although it does get tempting sometimes to take a capital gain when it presents itself with a view to getting back in further down the line at a lower level. neither strategy is right/wrong i guess. just depends on your preference. good luck.

Bought this in my income portfolio but it seems it would be just as comfortable in the growth one.

In for some at 205. I like paying top of the trading range, so the retrace I had been waiting for can now happen.

I have been watching this for some time now and hoping it would dip back down to 190 to allow me a good buying price. Looks to be a forlorn hope now and I may well have to stump up more than I wanted. 200+ may seem expensive now, but that chart is starting to look rather horny.

Probably not. It's just getting harder to find income shares in my experience. The ones I hold and those on my monitor have all been going up in recent weeks. It only makes sense for CSN to catch up a bit.

News just releasd that current FD, Ken Romney, will be stepping down in May next year. He will be replaced by David Rimmington, current Associate-Director Finance.

Ken is 60-ish so I assume that this is just normal succession planning.

Salpara111 - Stay patient. There will be further opportunities to buy CSN on the cheap in due course imho.

Hmm, had been watching with a view to getting some around the 170 mark.....it would appear that I missed the boat on that one!
Still a very high yield but I am currently more interested in getting cap growth so will keep it on my watch list for the moment.

added some more today, yielding 9%+ and last weeks trading statement showing solid performance makes this a must have for dividend income...

Last top up was at just over 157p at start of June. If I can repeat that, I'll be a happy bunny.
