Looks like we will get 910p so why is the share price still around the 850p mark!

Cheers P... I think the price has been well flagged in the last few weeks, despite the fact that the market has been busy freaking out... providing easy money for a confident hedge fund.

It's not over yet, and my shares do still carry some risk however.

Well done eipgam.

At least I was in the right place just the wrong view! Rales bro's look like smart guys
according to wiki. Curious I cant find any holdings info on them on the public sites. The forms show Newton with over 4% not shown anywhere else though.

Yes looks as if £9.00 or there abouts is on the cards. In truth who would want a Melrose deal when a straight cash offer could be on the table.I surpose another party could now appear we shall have to wait and see.

Upside: Another quid, or near enough.
Downside: Both bidders walk away and I have to hold on for the board to make good it's own promises.

To you they may mean nothing (quite rightly so as you probably bought a lot lower down) but to me they were a signal not to enter a buy or at least investigate first.

And I posted the link to the WAM thread and the Newton post because I thought others would find it interesting or be able to add to the pooled knowledge there for our mutual benefit.

I would be interested to know what you think the upside is from here and of any risks you can see?

yes thanks. But I am still unsure of the significance of a few piddly buys and sells by a few fund shareholders who appear to retain the vast majority of their stake.

I'm not selling at these levels.

Hi eipgam have you followed the link to the WAM thread in 2505?

re newton. They have been reducing if I'm reading the rns's correctly.

I asked prai why it was interesting (post 2504)and the reply didn't really educate me.... CS, can you tell me why it is interesting?

Interesting on Newton thanks for the heads up.

that's a good point. MRO have lost around 25% of their value since t/o announced. Therefore the value of the share component of their bid is consequently less

If the MRO offer was a cash offer, the share price would be much closer to the offer price.

Hi eipgam, I havent invested here because the first Newton related RNS I noticed was a sell so I've stayed out. I endeavour to check the RNS for Newton's activities every day and update the WAM thread and sometimes the company's BB as well.

Thanks praipus... but do you think these 8.3 & 8.5 notices are worth following? These funds are buying and selling on the same days in a lot of cases.... making pennies here and there on small, medium and larger trades.

Normally, we wouldn't notice but because CHTR are subject to takeover rules at the moment, all trades by holders over a certain & have to declare their deals and holdings.

That's how I understand it anyway...I would appreciate your comments.

Newton Investment Management selling a few more they seem to be doing this regularly almost in an MM capacity

To track the rest of Newton's holding see post 9 on the WAM thread:

As someone already pointed out a bit like mcro but i have a feeling this one will go through although not much higher that 8.60p, so percentage wise not much of an increase

You should have because I didn't see any RNS with incorrect info...

Sorry, Yes it was a mistake on their part I should have posted it on here as it seems to have disappeared. At the time I thought it was a stupid idea to corner Melrose as they have a possible bid coming from another firm.

CS... surely some mistake? PUSU is extended to 21/09 5pm as has been flagged since last week. Perhaps you just read the first para?

I would prefer an all cash offer

Colfax could keep Howden and sell ESAB although they say ESAB offers a new area of growth.

Perhaps MRO could sort out ESAB.
