Posted at 12/9/2011 07:22 by tullynessle Appears 910p is the number...RNS Number : 0322O Charter International PLC 12 September 2011 CHARTER INTERNATIONAL PLC Statement re possible offer for Charter |
Posted at 07/9/2011 17:23 by eipgam Thanks praipus... but do you think these 8.3 & 8.5 notices are worth following? These funds are buying and selling on the same days in a lot of cases.... making pennies here and there on small, medium and larger trades.Normally, we wouldn't notice but because CHTR are subject to takeover rules at the moment, all trades by holders over a certain & have to declare their deals and holdings. That's how I understand it anyway...I would appreciate your comments. |
Posted at 25/8/2011 11:27 by eipgam 60 mill? Thats more than a third of the stockI tried to verify on dataexplorers and it would not give details for CHTR |
Posted at 23/8/2011 11:09 by alter ego well the 840 "offer" wasn't actually made, just indicated it might be made so some scepticism is justified. However, if CHTR are talking to another potential bidder it does suggest a higher offer. After all they rejected Melrose "offer" as inadequate so one assumes any new offer would have to be higher. Many a slip twixt cup and lip probably explains the share price for now. |
Posted at 25/7/2011 17:48 by eipgam Another RNS... this time CHTR are releasing the interims quickly (with one days notice?)... that'll make tomorrow a bit more interesting. And details of a defense strategy? |
Posted at 25/7/2011 09:51 by eipgam Todays RNS.... seems to suggest that Melrose will up their bid if given a little co-operation and encouragement from the Charter BOD.Previously and seperately, the CHTR BOD have asked shareholders to bear with them... while they slip briefings on the qt to STimes hacks (two Sundays in a row we have had articles in that paper while not giving anything concrete to the market.) |
Posted at 04/7/2011 21:15 by eipgam The content of that link is below. Unfortunately, the price Panmure Gordon have suggested is not reproduced in the article . (PS the ITW they refer to as a possible suitor are the Illinois Tool Works) ....PPS Thanks JackBroker snap: Panmure sees opportunities in Charter demise Mon 04 Jul 2011 CHTR - Charter International chart Latest Prices Name Price % Charter International 828.50p +1.47% FTSE 250 12,102 +0.51% FTSE 350 3,203 +0.47% FTSE All-Share 3,135 +0.47% Industrial Engineering 7,777 +1.32% LONDON (SHARECAST) - Panmure Gordon has raised its target price on Charter despite thinking the engineer is in a "sorry state." Shares in Charter dived after a profit warning in last month, but quickly recovered after receiving an approach from fellow engineer Melrose. According to Panmure, Charter's "demise has provided a significant opportunity for the next owner." The broker continues: "With accelerated investment and a stronger management team we believe that its problems can be fixed (it has emerged from intensive care before) and its margin can recover to double-digit levels." Panmure also thinks that other predators may enter the fray. "Charter's welding business is a leader in territories and end-industries outside of North America and China and we would expect trade buyers to trump Melrose's first bid level," it said. Among the possible contenders it identifies are welding groups Lincoln Electric and Boehler, manufactured engineered products group ITW and liquid and gas producer Air Liquide. |
Posted at 04/7/2011 10:53 by eipgam I've been in Chtr some time £4>£12>£3>£8 and back down to £5ish... this seems to be a surprising chance for me to pay attention for once and get out with a profit. A Melrose holder might be the wrong person to ask but where do you think this will settle? I suspect that the BOD will be holding for around £10... |
Posted at 01/7/2011 09:48 by only who? Interesting. If Melrose had started buying CHTR, surely the price would have risen more? What about the idea that Melrose have already made a packet by engineering the exaggerated fall, making an offer (not even a definite one)they know will be refused to pump up the price, then selling? |
